Anon: Not really.. I took some Q & A's and some Blue Book tests and consistently score better on the previous released tests.. it might just be me though..

Anon: I just looked at the Oct 07'.. you can get 4 wrong and still get 700..if you get 4 wrong in the Blue Book then your score would be 710 (middle of the range)... not much difference there buddy...

im aiming for at least 2150 or a 2100
700 M, 700 CR, 700 W
or higher :). Ive been practicing lots of vocabulary so i hope it will pay off.
Question- How many questions can i skip/miss PER section to get a700 in each one?

i have come to the conclusion that there are no curves after comparing my Q & As to the CB practice test score conversion table and getting the EXACT same score even with my essay combined with my MC and MC raw by itself.

smoda61- I didn't say the March curve was harsh, just the math section's curve in general, ie. -3 will give likely you a 720. The Math curve is harsh compared to Reading, where -5 or 6 would give about the same score.

But last year's March test had a harsh curve, if that means anything.

From what I've heard, no month is proven to be a better time to take than any other month, but my cousin says that the December and January test dates attract a lot of last minute seniors - usually kids that are (for a lack of a better word) stupid - resulting in an easier curve.

ServeDin14- Sorry about that. I think I have March SAT on the brain. I read Math as March. But thank you for responding and clarifying things for me.

alright, well i'm still scared as hell.

a) why do you think the math curve is so harsh?
b) how is the essay scoring in comparison to Advanced Placement essay scoring?

gah... i just got my essay DESTROYED on CC... stupid collegeboard essay grader for boosting my confidence...

Apparently, from what I've learned from a thread today, the essay grader is just some computer. Obviously, the grade would be unrepresentative, which is why I'm currently putting essays on this forum.

I always screw something up on the Math test. Never received an 800 on that section before in my *life/I. Wish my CR score would go up...

I know some people say this is bad for you, but I always find myself studying more and more, desperately trying to cram last minute vocabulary and test strategies into my head during the last week/few days.
A lot of people say that it's bad to study a lot the night before, but from my last SAT experience (December 2007, 2180 total), I just couldn't relax!

Does anyone have advice on how to efficiently study and yet RELAX before the SAT?
Is it even possible to do both? Haha.

I'm really really hoping for a 2250 this time. I think if I manage to get that I will just give up on SAT1. I need my CR to go up (690 last time) and my Writing to STAY up (770 last time).
:(

Let's see... I've studied over the past months (at least two), although a good portion of those months were with the use of a Princeton Review online course and the Barrons 3500 word list. I think in terms of "important progress," I guess I'm almost cramming... :P I do plan to relax this Friday, as much as is allowed...

Lemme know how the Barron's word list helps- I'm studying it right now for the June SAT. :)

4 more days...
I'm scared.
My goal is a 2250
800M 700CR 750W

It's great that you're studying the word list in advance, Butternut. 3500 words is obviously a lot. I'm not sure if it's 100% effective, but let's say due to my two runs through the book (the first run focusing on the "easier" and frequently-appearing words, the second run focusing on, well, all... yeah, not the most efficient), words have passed through the "filter" in my brain! Yay...

You may find some words that you may not wish to spend too much time on. Those are usually nouns that are specific to something, like... "holster."

I just noticed that both Barron's and Gruber's have 3500 word lists. Do you think they're the same?

This is my second time taking it

In January 08 I got a 2120:
790 Math
670 CR
660 Writing

I am shooting for a 2200:
780-800 Math
660-700 CR
700-740 Writing

Is there any truth that the March test is so much easier to score well on than the January test?

Ive heard the curve is ten times easier

Is there any truth that the March test is so much easier to score well on than the January test?

Ive heard the curve is ten times easier

.... no none whatsoever.. if the curve is a little more generous, that just means the test was slightly harder than past SATs.. how many times is the question going to be asking? jeez...

so nervous...geez i should be studying....

can u explain me please a little about this exam and what subjects am I tested in or if I must pay to take it...???
