Official MATH discussion doe US -November

^We are united in our nerdy test anxiety. On the bright side, I get my ACT in 10 days and if that goes well, it should be enough to sustain me until my SAT scores get here.

On the whole, I thought the math sections were pretty easy. There were only a couple Q’s of which I was unsure.

Does anyone remember the Train question. There was train A and train b (I think they were trains anyways) and train b was twice as fast as train a… This ring a bell for anyone?

Lol I’m so stupid all I did was 72*3 and got 216 totally forgot about 54…
@Unseen um…nope

I’m pretty sure the pentagon one is 126, and for the driving one i got 1.5 Not sure if that is right though - I remember I rushed

I put 18 degrees for the pentagon one. It said the dotted pentagon was moving counterclockwise didn’t it? I did 72 - 54

the pentagon problem was the only problem i had no idea how to do. since an interior angle of a pentagon is 108 degrees and it had already been rotated 54, i said it was 270 since if had to be rotated around 2 more corners of the pentagon. for the driving one that had kd im pretty sure it was 8/3, but im not sure. i got 1.5 at first, but then i redid it and got 8/3

I also got 8/3. Does anyone remember getting 2250 for the average question where they have you a diagram? It was a student response one.

I got II and III for that question. It said they were positive intergers and w<x<y<z<7. So you need pairs ofr 2 and 6 or 3 and 5. There is not way to get option I ( which was w and X) to be either of those pairs, but the other 2 worked.

I put 162 degrees for the pentagon one, and I put 2.67 for the driving one.

What did you guys put for the perpendicular lines? I put down five. I wasn’t sure.

And what about the one with the square inside of the circle asking the ratio of one length to another? I put 5 sqrt(2) - 5 for that one.

Hopefully I got these right lol.

How nice do you guys think the curve will be?

For the question about the lowest four digit number who’s digits product is 12, was the answer 1126? 112*6=12

I got 5 sqrt(2) - 5 & 1126.

@Lolol1, the perpendicular lines was from the experimental section… I never had it.

i got all those but not 5 for the lines…at least I can’t remember that question. What was it?

The 2nd math part (not grid-in) with all the geometry questions was the hardest part imo.

i got 5sqrt 2 - 5. for the 12 one, are you sure it was product and not sum?

I think curve will be harsh… there weren’t any tricky questions.

For the combinations question about choosing 1 from 4 girls and 1 from 2 boys to form a 6-member committee, you guys got 8, right? And does anyone remember getting 2250 as an answer for the grid-in problem about finding the average for 2 years?

What was the median one where x<6? I put 6 after rearranging the numbers but I’m not aura that we were supposed to do that

Curve will definitely be harsh. All questions were easy. THough I’m so upset I got the w<x<y<z <7 problem wrong.
I said only II worked because 0<1<2<6<7 didnt work, forgot to take into account 1<2<3<5<7 UGH
I’m guessing -1 will drop me to a 760, 780 if they’re generous which I doubt because this SAT math was ridiculously easy. Unless I’m missing something and there were actually hard questions…

Which section was experimental?

thats what i got for both of those. do you think minus 2 grid-in ones and 2 bubble ones will be about 700? im fairly sure i missed 2 grid in ones and im sure somewhere in there i missed 2 bubbles ones

@mmatt I took the march SAT and I had a raw score of 47/54 and got a 680. You would potentially get a raw score of 50/54 and even though the curve for this test will be harsh, I still think you’d get a 700.
