Official MATH discussion doe US -November

I was having issues with the driving question, the one about starting at 7 and driving until 8:30 being distance d and starting at 7 and going until 11 being distance dk, where it asked to find k. Idk it’s probably really easy and I’m having a brain fart

x<y<z<w<7, mean of 2 = 4
the answer 2?

I too thought this math section was ridiculously easy. Here’s all the answers I can remember from questions brought up already:

-2 t-shirts
-2250 for average of two years
-driving question was 8/3
-4 digit number was 1126
-y-value was anywhere from 1.8 to 2.4 (grid in)
-for w<x<y<z, it was II and III
-5sqrt5 - 5
-162 degrees

^ the answer II and III ?

what are the answers to these?
1)the one about temperature function
2)average sum of angles of intersecting lines

Yes, it was I and II.

Someone on the other thread said the question about scoring 1, 2, 3, or 4 goals & greatest # of people who scored 4 was 4 instead of 5 because at least one person had to score 1 goal, 2 goals, 3 goals, or 4 goals… I put 5 but I think the right answer should be 4 now. Anybody agree?

i didn’t remember it saying at least one person has to score 1,2,3 O_o

It was 5, I think.

i put 5 too

francesca, I know but the person is saying that it was implied that at least one person scored each of the goals…

here’s the full explanation:

I do find it odd that it said “1, 2, 3, or 4 goals” instead of “at least 1 but no more than 4 goals”. :/

I put 5 but his explanation sounds reasonable for it to be 4…
I hope not I’m already -1… -2 = 740 probably :(

Seriously, I got a 770 last time in Math because of a truly dumb error; if the answer really is 4 because we interpreted the problem wrong, then I’ll be really upset…

im pretty sure its 4. i tried 5 and it didnt add up

I don’t think they would make the question that hard to decipher

1+1+1+1+1+1+2+4(5)=28

@francesca, the temperature one was february and the other one was 30 if i remember correctly

thanks  @mmatt the temperature one i meant the whole about when you go up 300 meters you decrease -2.5 degrees or something like that lol

Do you think that the scoring goals problem could have been on the experimental section?

@mmaatt
Can you explain the temperature function one?

not experimental…i got 4 reading passages and got the goal problem
