Official Math IIC January 2005

Hope everyone did great today!

haha...oops, I just noticed that you can't actually discuss the test till noon....

Bah. I didn't do too well on it. Waiting for noon to discuss a few specific problems that are bugging the hell out of me...

Gah i think i did really bad. i left 7 blank. gahh and yesterday i took the Real SAT II practice test and got an 800.......>< >< ><

im so depressed

I don't think I did great either. I left about 5 blank, and had a number of guesses. I'm hoping I can still manage to get over a 700 though.

I finished all the problems, but I didn't have time to check all of them. Of the ones I did check, I made many many errors, so I'm getting worried here. :(

how does ETS decide the curve?

ahhh...I left about two blank, but I think I made a bunch of stupid mistakes...

5 blank. If I got all of the others ones right  I might get an 800. Fat chance of that, though...

hmm...I wonder if we can discuss the questions yet?

it wasnt so bad...i was practicing with barrons during the car ride to the test center lol and that freaked me out a bit but the test overall was a cinch compared to my precalc class....i left .. 2 blank and guessed on 1 or 2. unless i got tricked like 10 times i think i did alright

word on the street is that u can get about 5 or 6 wrong and still get an 800 right?

haha...word on the street...yeah, the curve is that generous

It's 12:06 EST so I think we can discuss questions now

I didn't know there was Calculus on the test. I had to do volume of revolution once and Le'hospital's rule once. Actually, I don't think I needed to use it, but it gave me the right answer, so oh well.

i think on that one...you just get the volume of a cone...

um, yeah. rotating around the x axis formed a cone, and the radius and height were given.

i feel really stupid now, i left like 4 questions blank, and they were ones that i could've done. i left the ln x = e^-x one blank, cuz i didnt understand what it was asking. i left the standard deviation one blank b/c i forgot how to do that. i left the log2 x^2 + 2x one blank because i forgot how to do that too...

2/(3sin^2(x)+2) is undefined at 3.87?

i think so, for that one i just graphed it

what was the last one ... that's the only one I didn't know ... it was either 5 or 8 ....
