Official May 2008 SAT discussion

Got that one Rangzen! :D

I think the one timothyandrew is talking about was like 3>6x-5>-3

Feed: Yeah, I said C too for that one :)

I think for me it lookes something like

1/x x x³ | x² 1/x²

@Rangzen, that was x³. Just try it with -0.5

Phew! so got that one right =)
Can you explain the question of that other numberline question?
I dont really remember >.< (You guys have amazing memories o_O you even know all answer choices xD)

Maybe it was an experimental section? It was something like " 3>6x-5>-3" and you had to pick the one which was a graph of the equation on a number line.

@Feed -> No, not that one. (I marked C also)

@RDarin -> Yeah, that one. Do you remember if you marked A or B?
EDIT: Wait, that was experimental!??!?!?!?

There were 2/3 numberline questions...

Which one?
The one RDarin said? (That was B or C... don't remember).

timothyandrew, I happen to be in Bangalore too. The US system is organized such that you take a math course according to your ability, but in the Indian system usually everyone just gets dumped in the same classs. So I know some US kids who are doing multivariable calculus in 11th grade; in India you're lucky if you get to start basic calculus by that time. Only self-study can be your saviour.

I'm still absolutely and unforgivably FUMING at myself for messing up a math question. I mean I must have been BLIND WHAT THE HELL? WHY DOES BLINDNESS ONLY GO AWAY AFTER THE TEST?

AHHHHHHHHHHH.

Yup, RDarins numberline thing.

I think I put B

Yeah, I think I put B too. Was that experimental or not?

Okay, if someone can provide the question, I will be more than happy to explain it...

Has someone already made a collection of all the questions? ^_^

Don't remember it exactly Feed :</p>

timothyandrew: Probably not if the 3 of us had it.

@Lethal_Teapot -> Yeah, exactly. And the focus of doing an undergrad course is totally different. Almost everyone does it only so that they can get a job somewhere and 'make it big'. No one actually wants to learn stuff.

@RDarin -> :( Hope it's right, then.

The question said something like -3≤x<3

So you had to pick the number line with a closed dot on -3 and an open dot on 3. There was only one which had a closed dot on -3.

Yea, that one's definitely NOT experimental.

Yeah Ive got that one Feed.
But what about that question with 8 and 9 ??
What was the question?

It had a numberline through 8 and 9 with 3 tickmarks between them, which means the first one was 8.25, the second one 8.5 and third one 8.75... then it said pick the one closest to 8.6 which was C.

Remember?
