How is everyone doing!?
Can someone please give me advice? I’ve been practicing math so much but I never do well. When I read over the explanations and redo the problems, I’m like wow that was simple. But, I never know when to apply what I’ve learned to future problems. (For example, those shapes where you have to find the area/perimeter of the shaded region or arc) Sos
@OutdoorLover: SO NERVOUS!! Staying home from school tomorrow to finalize practice, and hope for the best!
@fzaidi: Honestly, there’s not that much time left, so any advice that I can give you, might not resonate with you completely, but, what I can say is that I were you, I would focus on getting questions that I know I can get right, right. If you know you have trouble with those shades region/arc problems, skip them and spend your time solving questions you’re more likely to solve. Also, know your formulas. It will help. A lot. Some questions literally have plug in answers. Finally, don’t fret. If you’re not satisfied with your score after this test, take it again in June or use your summer studying and take it in the fall. Good luck
Any ideas about the test so far?
I am so nervous… This test is the only thing I have been thinking about this whole week
How should I put my best foot forward when I do the essay on the SAT? The questions are so random every time! Unfortunately this is a weakness for me on the test.
And the test dawns…goodluck everyone
@HappinessXOX The essay is extremely formulaic: intro, 3 body paragraphs, conclusion. Make sure your intro and conclusion are no greater than 3 sentences long; get to the point, you know? No thesis required, just make sure your intro has the examples you’ll use, and remember to include those smooth transitions.
Include examples that are relevant and beneficial, and don’t forget to sprinkle a few fancy words here and there. Also make sure to fill up most, if not the entire space provided; for the SAT essay, the longer the essay, the better your score, and the better the first impression will be on those readers (if they see a long essay, it makes a good impression.)
Look at the rubric one last time, and check out those example essay responses from the Blue Book and online course, practice tests, etc. From there, you’ll see a pattern of what they want; simply emulate it tomorrow and you’re on your way to a 12!
I only studied about 2 days, given I had 4 months to study. Well I guess I’m going to register June SAT again >_>…
before the new SAT rolls out, best of luck to all
Get well rested everyone!
Took it in January, got a 1960 without studying. I’ve done testtakers over the last 2 months so hopefully i can get a 2200+!!
