Hey redsexton! Thanks for being so kind to inquire and wish me well...that's very thoughtful of you! I've decided to go to Bates College next year! I'm really excited about it. I really did love MHC though...it's a beautiful place and so nurturing! Yes, it wasn't an easy decision! Good luck to you redsexton! I hope you make it in...

D is in. She got her acceptance packet today, was informed through e-mail.

yepunsarang, I'm so happy for you! :) Bates is a fantastic school. Have you thought about a major yet?

I think between 7-10 were taken from the waitlist, and my guess that's gonna be it (judging on numbers in previous years). I did email the adcoms for an update, but received no reply.

MamaBO, congratulations to you and your daughter! :) You must be so proud. I'm glad that everything worked out (I know you were worried about the time difference when contacting adcoms) and I hear the acceptance package is beautiful!

I hope she has a thoroughly enjoyable, productive, and successful experience at Mount Holyoke! :)

redsexton, I continue to pray that you get in. Don't give up. Then again, in a couple more years I believe you'd qualify to get into MHC through the Francis Perkins Program. Why don't you study the possibilities there? Go look it up, it's exciting.

Hey redsexton! It amazes me how supportive and kind people can be even when they're under so much stress. That's really something wonderful...I also wish very hard that you'll get into MHC. It's really the people who deserve to be there an really want to attend who should really be going to places that are as wonderful as MHC. I understand how you must feel...

I'm still not sure what I want to major when I go to Bates, but I wrote down Literature on my application because I think that's what I want to do...but of course, that can change! I'm really excited about college! I hope it's going to be everything I wished for. Good luck redsexton! Either way, you'll get somewhere great, so cheer up and be strong!

Thanks MamaBO and yepunsarang!

I'll qualify to be part of the Class of '13, MamaBO, as a Francis Perkins Scholar. You need to turn 24 in the first semester, and I'll turn 24 in November 09.

I'm already looking into UK courses, yepunsarang. I already have a TV/Film Diploma and will most likely choose a 1 year top up degree, and then apply for an MFA. Maybe being waitlisted was the best option!

I would still really love to get in and you certainly accept if offered a place, no matter how late in the day. However, I did email the adcoms over a week ago and got an email back today which didn't answer any of my questions, so I'm guessing it was just a generic email, like the waitlist notice. Did anyone else get this?....

We are in the process of making decisions regarding the wait list.
Essentially, we are evaluating the number of spaces we may or may not have
available on a daily basis.

If your status changes, I will be sure to let you know immediately.

We are uncertain about whether we will be able to make additional offers.
Thus, we recommend that students on the wait list evaluate their other
options. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best wishes,

Sarah

I finally got off and was accepted for spring:] Anyone else get this response or did you get in for fall?
I got a great aid package.
I think
any insight on how consistent this will be over 4 years?

oh and btw, i let them know I would be perfectly happy getting in for spring. Those of you still on the wait list might consider this

being a spring admit is not bad at all. I have a couple of friends who are spring-admits and they are doing just great, both academic and social wise. Congrats on your acceptance!

Well, I guess I did not make MHC's cut from their waitlist. I logged on ISIS today and looked into applicant summary and got this message in red bold text: You're not a current applicant. So I assumed that I was rejected.
I wish that they used another way to tell me that sorry, you did not make it rather than giving me such a cold rejection which made me felt like such a slap on the face.
Anyway, i'm gonna give them a call later on to ask just to make this crap official. Unlike everybody else, I did not receive any email or mail saying that I was on a waitlist apart from the information on ISIS. They told me it was because I'm an international student and probably wouldnt receive the letter for the next few weeks (that was on april 1st). 2months later, nothing.
For the rest of you that still waiting: Good luck ( I really mean it)

I got off Wait list and into Spring acceptance too! Hope to see you there Beargarden.

van_do, D was taken off the waitlist around May 8 or 9. When she checked her applicant summary in ISIS just recently, she got the same message in the same red bold text: "You're not a current applicant."
It could mean that she's no longer a current applicant as she's already in, so why not call and find out for sure where you are? :)

Thank you MamaBO. I will call the admission office today. I hope they can give me an answer rather than : " I will pass your question to the person in charge and she will get back to you as soon as possible" :(
Anyway, I'm not keeping any high hope as I logged on to Financial Aid online and there's nothing on it. I can access to no tab at all. I really do love to attend MHC, but I'm an international student, even if I'm admitted, without any aids,I'll be doomed.
I just hope I'll get a defenite answer today. I was so downed yesterday as I told myself I was rejected but somewhere in my mind, I still hoped that I might be wrong. Anyway, I will update

Just got off the phone with the MHC admission, I had to call directly to Sarah and got an answer that there hasn't been any change to my status at all. The waitlist is still active and I will still be considered as a waitlisted candidate. I wish that they were planning to take me off the waitlist but just in the process of considering how much aids they could offer LOL( that could explain why I'm not a current applicant and got no tab at all on financial aid online) . Oh well, I'm thinking nonsense again...

I share your fate van_do..
currently on the wait list for the class of 2010..
will be considering spring acceptance after discussing it with my family..

Will we all get a letter or something eventually stating that there is no longer a need for a waitlist for this years class?

I got accepted to Stephens in MO on a $10K per year scholarship, and hopefully once I get approved for my loan and visa, I can finally forget about this list!

Good luck everyone! xxxxx

I dont know if international students like me would get a letter or even an email. To be honest, I really love Mount Holyoke so I didn't care if I had to contact them a million of time to find out what's going on. I did not receive any mail at all from MHC from the beginning. And it got worse when I was placed on the waitlist, no mail or email to notify me at all. After I emailed and called MHC, I was told I wasn't likely to receive the waitlist email in the next few weeks. It's nearly 2 months now and... So I doubt if international students would receive anything. Anybody knows if the waitlist is still active? i told myself to forget about this but I just wish they give me a definite answer. I got offers from quite a few, some gave me full tuition, more than what I've asked and more than their maximum aid that they normally give to international student. Still, I dont know why I'm still waiting for MHC and still like it so much.
good luck to everyone!

anybody knows if the waitlist still active?

I'll be withdrawing my place in MHC to attend another school; how do I actually officially withdraw? I dropped an email to both the Admissions office, someone in SFS, and my admissions officer, and haven't received any reply except from the financial aid officer. I do want to make sure that my spot is open to other students on the waitlist, but calling is a bit iffy 'cause of the time difference.

I remember u got a full ride - where are you going then?
