Yeah, I think my earlier comment was unclear. We did get the decision on a Thursday last year, a day before we’d expected them. So you guys should probably expect your decisions this Thursday or Friday. Best of luck.

could be 4 days!!! ahhhh

Could be tomorrow! But most likely not.

Why tomorrow?

I doubt that but I hope it’s true. Mixed feelings, haha.

I remember the trend was something like they release it on the Friday before 15th Dec by the latest, we got ours on Thursday so you guys can expect yours by Friday too, I guess!
:)

Decisions won’t be sent tomorrow because that is the latest date that Northwestern will accept stray forms before releasing decisions. I know this because the high school’s early decision awareness form got messed up on the Common Ap site and NU sent an email requiring it to be in by the end of the day tomorrow.

All I want for Christmas is N(U)

May the odds be forever in all your favor!

haha i’m starting to think northwestern doesn’t mind if we’re going to have a heart attack since they’ll be catching us off guard sending the acceptances/rejections! and i’m with you nikvenkata! my christmas wishlist starts off with a NU acceptance! :)

When did you all decide Northwestern was the school for you? I want to hear stories.

First I fell in love with chicago, and i knew i had to go to college or live there in the future. Then as I grew up, I also knew I really wanted to become a journalist. I had heard of mizzou, syracuse, usc, but what REALLY sealed the deal for NU was how well-rounded it was; you could pursue anything and know you’d be successful. I attended a 6-week summer program at NU, and i just fell in love with it beyond the stats and its programs; it was love at first sight! and of course, its close proximity to chi-town was a bonus! if there’s a soul mate in regards to colleges, NU seems like “the one” for me. :)

I knew I wanted to go to Northwestern when my parents finally decided to let me pursue journalism. Like Kextreme16, I knew all the schools, but Northwestern is in my favorite city and is far enough away from home that I know I’m independent, but not completely alone. Also, the whole Big Ten thing (even though NU has the worst football record right now) is a massive plus. Besides, I know that if I go to NU, I’ll be more than a stock journalist: I’ll be well-rounded and able to approach things from a perspective other schools just wouldn’t give me.

Looks like everybody applied to Medill!

I applied to WCAS for Chemistry!

Looks like I’m one of very few SESP applicants! (on this thread at least)

I applied to WCAS undecided.

Help!!! Did we have to already turn in our fafsa form?? I figured they would’ve emailed us about them/ we wouldn’t have to do them unless we were admitted so I didn’t even consider it and now I feel like they won’t let me in because I didn’t fill out the fafsa form

@randomquestions
You can’t fill out the FAFSA until January 1st. No worries! You do need to fill out the CSS Profile, though! But don’t worry, none of it will affect your admission.

Am I the only engineer here? And how far away is Evanston from where you guys live? It’s about nine hours driving for me.

I first heard of northwestern as a sophomore when my best friend got in and he seemed like he was going to go there, but then he couldn’t afford it. So junior year I was like hmm what’s northwestern? And when my dad asked me over spring break which college I wanted to visit first, I decided on Northwestern for some reason. And I visited and loved it.

My son has also applied for Engineering. He loves math and science, so thought engineering was a natural fit, but is unsure as to what type of engineering, and wanted to explore other schools within NU. He was also turned off to “tech” schools because he wanted a well rounded education. Yes, he too, loves that NU is in the big 10, hopefully next year the football team will do better! We are from NY, so we are a plane ride away, but we loved Chicago…Good luck to all
