Official Northwestern University Transfer Thread

Well. I’m Chinese, and I’ve only been to American for 15 days several years ago…And I had no experience studying abroad as well.
ugh, I feel terrible.
Just saw many people who got accepted have 4.0 GPA and almost full score in both SAT

hey so i am going to be out of town for a couple weeks and will not be able to check my mailbox, i’m emailing the transfer rep and letting them know…anyway, since decisions are released rolling, when do you have to respond with a decision by? is it a specific date, like july 15, or is it like 2 weeks after your acceptance, etc?

I am pretty sure that it is two weeks after you have received the decision, I am leaving soon also for Semester at Sea and I am having my parents send the money ASAP when I find out. The website says by your enrollment deadline, so I think in the acceptance package it will let you know when you have to pay your deposit.

alright thanks, gotta stay on top of that then. ahhh i really cant take the wait any longer…

i was lookin through NU’s CDS from the past years and it seems like the transfer admittance rate varies drastically, ranging from 10-40%. hope it’s favorable this year

gosh, 40% would be nice. Hopefully some letters come rolling in this week. fingers crossed

I just kind of want to know one way or another at this point.

got my letter today. I am in China and it is dated 5th June.

diablo, would you mind sharing your stats with us? Congrats on your acceptance!

aaaa thanks!
I got 2300 SAT and 4.0 GPA but I was a freshman when I apply so my GPA should not be very impressive…

haha diablo dont be so modest, those are absolutely fantastic stats. congrats you deserve it

that is really cool to see so many internationals getting accepted =D. I love a lot of international students, they add so much flavor to the mix.

I just got an acceptance letter today, dated june 4th. Two days ago, I just sent my deposit to UPenn… Where should I go for Engineering?

Penn has a stronger engineering rep. Congrats on getting in!

haha thanks.
As far as I am concerned, Northwestern is very transfer friendly. So all of you who are waiting have very good chance of getting in!

ORFEboy congrats on getting in Penn and NU! I am still on the waitlist of Penn…

Congrats transfers! You’re going to love it. : )

I got a rejection letter today dated June 5th  Boo. Oh well. It saves me a ton of money for a flight out there and a double deposit. I didn’t expect to get in anywhere, but of all the ones I applied to, Northwestern had the highest admit rate. Congrats to those who were admitted and good luck to those who are still waiting!!

ah sorry annthony, atleast you got into wustl, great school

I think I will get a rejection letter, too. it is because I have low SAT score and low GPA which is 3.78. NU is my dream school but I think it is time to give up my dream and I gotta go to UNC

whistle, you don’t know that for sure. I mean my high school stuff isn’t amazing, but maybe they will focus more on college and your essays.

I just want to hear back one way or another so I can start getting my stuff together whether it’s for Loyola or Northwestern…

Same here, FreeClear. I am going to Loyola if I don’t get into NU, not ideally where I would like to be but, good back-up I guess.
