I’m guessing there were like 100-150 last year. Just guessing.

accepted…finnally. just waiting on finaid to see if ill be able to go.
Anyone know when that comes?

half of the people in the facebook group transferred to nu last year. why are there so few of us in this group?

woo got in today, though I probably won’t be attending will visit at least though

so any figures on accept/reject %'s?

Yeah not really sure why there are so few of us in the group…I’m assuming just about all of the decisions have been released by now…

what is te facebook group called?

so are we transfers just on 2 networks now for both NU and our old school? so it will show both school names

A lot of people keep their old school’s network it seems. I left my old school’s network so my only college network is Northwestern.

Did all you guys here get the decisions? I am just curious why mine is not coming out.

they release them rolling, but your decision should be coming any day now as they are in the final process

yeah, best of luck whistle! hopefully in the next couple days or so.

anyone get their credit evaluation already?

I haven’t received it. I’m hoping it’ll come soon. I might call on Monday to figure out what’s going on with that.

i got my evaluation by email about 3 weeks after i got my letter

Well, I’ve still not received my decision, and I need to respond to another great school this week.

Given that I’ll really need a month or so to get my decision and credit evaluation, I’m just going to have to say screw Northwestern. It’s sad because I was very interested in their school.

Rejected from Medill. Really big bummer and it thoroughly surprised/ disappointed me.

Can’t give much info about other dorms, but I do know a lot about Plex since I lived there last year. Advantages: it has TWO dining halls INSIDE the dorm. So on those ridiculously cold and snowy days you don’t even have to leave the building if you don’t want to. Mailroom is also inside the dorm. The food isn’t that bad. Other advantages: dead center of south campus, so you’re within a two ish minute walk of the library, most south campus academic buildings, etc. The music building is also very close by.

Disadvantages are of course relative. Almost all of the rooms in Plex are singles, which could be a plus if you like that, but the way the building was designed (back in the 70s or something) makes for a very anti-social environment. Don’t plan on any parties or anything. But if you really want a single or want a very quiet environment to study, it could work for you. There ARE freshman in Plex (at least there were last year), but really it doesn’t matter very much since everyone is kind of broken up and divided all over the place, you don’t really know. Again, it’s not a very open place… any time you walk down hallways all the doors are shut and there isn’t any music playing or anything… it’s just a place to live, essentially. Rooms are decent sized, nice window, all your basic furniture etc.

Other tidbits: it’s really far away from SPAC, which is all the way at the tip of north campus. Plan on at least a ten minute walk if you want to go there. Blomquist is not that far, though. The health center is literally right next door if you get sick. Lots of college advising and professors’ offices are on the street next to Plex, so if you need to see your profs they are closeby. Overall, it’s a good functional place to live—food in the dorm, close to a lot of academic buildings, close to downtown Evanston, but it’s far away from SPAC and the north campus academic buildings, and it’s not exactly a social hub. Hope that helps.

i got absolutely shafted on my credit evaluation. was in junior standing at my old school…now i will be entering at the beginning of soph year. lame. oh well, love NU

That sucks xfer =/ Ugh I’m working on finding easy distro classes =( Any suggestions? lol

xfer, Were you following the correct Distribution Requirement courses for WCAS? Was there any particular reason they were so harsh with your credit evaluation?
