just called the admissions office and they told me my decision was not available.i had to reply to other schools by the end of this week, but they said they couldn't gaurantee me a decision before that. what can i do??? :(

Idk about your financial situation, but if you're really that interested in NW, you can double deposit? Or save a spot at whichever options you have now and if you get in to NW you can withdraw I think?

It works like that for Reg Applicants... You can always call and ask the school you're going to deposit at.

Vicki, I would definitely recommend depositing at your other school to make sure that you get a spot somewhere. You might be able to get your deposit back if you find out soon enough anyway.

I'm pretty sure that means that you sent in all the necessary transcripts and such by April 1. Mine says it was completed on Feb. 14.

Personally, I think it's ridiculous how long it is taking for us to get decisions. Other college's deadlines are approaching, and I really need to know if I can go to NU. Perhaps in the future it would be wise for NU to have applications due by April if they're going to dilly dally in taking so long to complete them. University of Chicago sends out decisions 2-3 weeks after the due date for transfers. Why is this so different?

Aww, sorry guys. I know how awful it feels waiting and not knowing when decisions will come in the first place. I agree that Northwestern should have a quicker turn-around time, but then again, they might have a really good reason why they've kept the process this way over the years. Best wishes.

I am applying for the Winter Quarter 2008 since I missed the deadline for Fall. I have a 3.56 gpa, not a high chance of getting admitted but I'll try anyway.

So uh, has anyone tried calling NU about decisions or anything? I want to so badly just to see when we can expect decisions but haven't been able to due to pure fear.

i've called twice, and both times got "we will try to get a decision to you by the end of the week." going to have to put a deposit in at another school--anyone else in this situation?
