Official Northwestern University Transfer Thread

I am probably not going to have a room to live in at Loyola, and will have to travel 40 minutes each way for class. Kinda ****ty, but I'm still holding out.

I Got In!!!!!!!!!

Congrats vicky!

Did they also send you any financial aid info? (if you applied for fin aid)

Seconding the congrats, Vicky. Is your admission decision available online?

no, my status doesn't change. i got a email from them.

Congrats Vicky!!!!

OMG yay!!! congratulations!

thanks, guys :)

i got in too!! They haven't sent me financial aid yet. i hope i turned everything in for it. im kinda worried now. im gonna give them a call on monday.

congrats! what schools are you guys coming from and what are your stats?

im coming from U of Oregon Clark Honors College. I have a 3.69 GPA and I took all of the honors classes i could in my freshman year. HS i was 6th in my class with a 4.15 weighted GPA and 7 APs (only took 5 tests though).

bump.

any other news?

Still waiting for decision. I'd like to fill out Penn's housing contract, but there's a $350 fine if I cancel and head over to Northwestern.

congrats on Penn, Nomada!! you are still waiting for northwestern??

more than 1,000 transfer students applied for admission for Fall '08, and the University expects to enroll between 150 and 175 students.

Yea, I was accepted at Penn with a nice financial aid package, but I'd really like to get into NU's MMSS program. So I'm counting on three things:
-admitted to NU
-admitted to MMSS
-decent financial aid

My chances are probably very slim given NU's limited financial aid for transfers.

Was anyone actually rejected yet? I'm wondering if they're saving the rejection letters for last (which would be ultra ****ty).

that's also what i was thinking...but i hope that's not the case

wow, 150 out of 1,000 - certainly beats the old 35% acceptance rate. I guess NU is not going to remain an easy elite school to transfer to anymore. And goodbye to any chance of fin aid.

Nomada, housing contract? didn't you already have to file an acceptance for admission that has penalty associated with it as well?

Man, that transfer stat really rains on my parade.
