Official Northwestern University Transfer Thread

That stat says that they plan to "enroll" 150-175 students, not admit.

that's a good call

That's only a little more than half as many as were accepted last year. Damn.

Well, I applied to Medill school and I feel like that's the most competitive school to transfer into. My stats were very good, and I'm transferring from Syracuse's Newhouse school, and top notch J school, but I'm still doubtful wheter I'll get into NU! I JUST WANT TO HEAR BACK SOOOOOOO BAD!!!!!

I got in! Came in a big packet by snail mail this morning!

Oh also, I'm coming from NYU.
I'll be in the school of comm.
College GPA: 3.6
ACT: 31
ETCs: Only student council at NYU, but a lot of radio, stu co, etc from HS.
HS GPA: 4.2W/3.8UW, Top 6%

I also live in the suburbs of chicago, and my letter was dated June 18th, so NU is still in acceptance mode right now. Good luck to everyone else!

Congratulations, Ohhhradio!

When did you guys submit your application? Let's keep this noted along with results...

I think I submitted it two days before the deadline... so April 28th?

Hi all. I don't think it matters when the application was submitted because they won't even review you until all that other stuff gets in (transcripts, test scores, etc.) and not until after the deadline.

have all the decisions been released?

yeah, what the heck NU! just tell me i got rejected already. this wait is getting ridiculous...

has anyone heard anything lately?

only thing i've heard is that medill only accepts TWO transfers a year....YIKES

So today is the day that we were supposed to have been notified by. I still haven't gotten so much as an email confirmation that they even ever received my application. I think that they may have just taken my application fee and ran.

tommy:
go to teh webpage, to make sure they have your app. type in your email you used for the app to get your ID number.

Rejected. Oh well.

in =)

10char

They told me over the phone that the decision has been sent to me over a week and half ago. I'm currently abroad, so it takes a bit longer (regular mail: 3 weeks).

I've read at 2007 posts that acceptance letters are sent via overnight Fedex - does that mean I got rejected? Did those of you who got accepted receive overnight Fedex? Anyone from outside of U.S.?

I called and said that schools were bugging me to get back to them, and they said I should be getting my decision within a week. So I hope I didn't hurry them into a wrong decision :).
