**Official Notre Dame Regular Decision Class of 2021 Thread**

No portal info yet … hopefully tomorrow?!?

I hope so lol. Apparently the portal information comes out approximately 1 week before the actual decisions come out.

Also, as a heads up, you will probably receive decisions at 6:42 PM EST. Represents 1842 in military time, the year ND was founded.

Well that’s an interesting comment…6:42 pm EST hmmm. Guess there is more to “March Madness”… :D/

Yup 6:42 is the time that EA decisions were up!

Alright I got good news for everyone here. I’m an admissions person and I reviewed all your applications. You are all accepted and your cost of attendance will be $4.23 per year.

I thought it was $6.42 per year???

I have read about the Gateway program, and personally, I would be absolutely thrilled to get into it, and would definitely take as my top choice I believe even over other universities I got into… just because Gateway is nearly as rigorous as ND when selecting, and you feel like an ND student while in the program. You technically actually are an nd student, you take a class there and have an ID, may be involved in activities at ND, etc. personally I don’t have the stats for admission and I know that… I just have such a passion for ND and legacy status so I specifically applied in arts and letters just so I could also be reviewed for Gateway.

The Gateway Program at ND is mostly for LEGACY applicants who Notre Dame does not want to outright reject due to their legacy status, but otherwise would not accept if not for this program. I know multiple legacy students who I have gone through this program, and they all say it’s not that bad if ND is your dream school. I also know someone who got into Gateway but thought it was a waste of a year, so he went to Boston College instead and he loves it there. Point is, Gateway is mostly under-qualified legacy students. However this absolutely does not mean non-legacy applicants will be excluded from it.

It’s official…everyone has lost their minds waiting… =))

Ok so my d just got an email from Notre Dame saying that one of the financial aid docs is missing. So does that mean she’s still being considered?!?!

@FORKTHlS not that bad? Hm. Figured maybe some would enjoy it… could you expand more on what you’ve heard about Gateway students experiences?

@kslinky I’m applicant too, so I really don’t, but to me it’s like she’s being accepted and they’re trying to put her financial aid together

@kslinky I would tell you to not read too much into it. I received a letter in the mail in December but was ultimately deferred. It could be good though!

@lagirl2017 she was also deferred in December so I was surprised to get it now.

Many students at the Gateway program love their experience. It probably wasn’t their ideal outcome and they probably wish that they could attend Notre Dame right away, but it’s a great opportunity nonetheless. Speaking about a personal experience from a gateway student: a good friend of mine is currently in the program and absolutely loves it. She is as involved in the Notre Dame student body and activities as any regular Notre Dame student would be. If anyone is interested in the Gateway experience, the website I posted earlier has testimonials from Gateway students and parents about what it has been like. Hope this helps @nduclaunc

Thank you!!! @thinkpositive421

Let us all keep our hope for our dream schools but rest in knowing god promises that nothing may interrupt our destiny. We are loved by a supernatural god who is laying out our steps before us. He does not fail. We will all end up where we are meant to be regardless. Goodluck in the coming weeks everyone

@kslinky I got a similar email from Villanova, I was basically told by my counselor and tutor that it was a good sign but not guaranteed

Does the portal email come out EXACTLY one week before decisions?? or just around that time
