**Official Notre Dame Regular Decision Class of 2021 Thread**

@a20171 it was 5 days, 12/7 and 12/12

are the decisions released when the portals open? so we know before decisions come out?

@NewJerseyCaptain - you’ll get an email with a portal link, login and password around 5 - 7 days prior to decision day. @kslinky 's experience is what my DS experienced in the EA round - 12/7 then 12/12. At the time decisions are released (usually 18:42pm), the portal will change from “decision coming soon” to DECISION. You will get an email that your portal has been updated, but that email usually comes after the decision is accessible on the portal. I hope that makes sense.

Has anyone received anything?

@chino944 nope! still nothing here, if we get the email tomorrow, I’d say decisions thursday and if they wait until monday decisions will be next monday ):

I’m losing my mind waiting …

@nduclaunc thanks for the great words. Stop wondering/doubting and enjoy your path with him

For REA in December, the heads up email which provided credentials to access the portal came out at 4 pm ET on Wed 12/7.

Rumors (which were proved true) then circulated that Monday 12/12 was going to be decision release day.

The admissions portal was updated at about 6:42 pm ET on 12/12 with the decisions.

The emails saying check the portal for decisions didn’t start coming out until about 7 pm ET on 12/12 and seemed to come out in batches. So there was a 20-30 minute window where the decisions were available on the portal prior to the emails landing.

Last year for RD, portal email was on Thurs 3/10 and decisions were Friday 3/18.

I’m honestly dreading decision day. At least now there is hope. I really don’t feel like I’m going to get in :frowning:

I’m deferred and realize my chances aren’t good, but waiting since october has not been the most fun! Although it’d definitely be worth it if i was accepted  but good luck to everyone! ND is a wonderful place! This thread has made it a much more pleasant experience for me! I know God has a plan for me and i’m certainly excited to see what my future holds!

@goblue8721 I am slowly doubting my chances. Being deferred sucks :expressionless:

@lagirl2017 Word LOL, but you’re def not alone!!

I dont wanna get anyones hope up or anything but if you were deferred you have a really good chance of being accepted tons of high stats kids were flat out rejected EA so if you were deferred you have something they liked. My friend with a 32 ACT (i know kinda low for ND) but a 4.0 UW in all AP and honors from a really prestigious high school with varsity sports and service PLUS he was a legacy and he was rejected not even deferred. So deferred people don’t loose hope yet!!

This is just emotionally draining and I’m sick of it right now

@goblue8721 @lagirl2017 I’m deferred too … it definitely sucks. This needs to be over soon. Good luck everyone.

I thought I would chime in here with words of encouragement, particularly to those who were deferred. I have two kids currently attending ND who were deferred in the early round only to be accepted RD, so don’t lose hope! Both were high stats kids, but if anything anti-hooked. Can’t help with any insight as to release date as both my kids had to stalk the mailbox to get their decisions. Good luck to all of you. ND truly is a special place.

The last 4 1/2 months has been a test of belief and faith. Lowest grade of my life C+…

A 2016 friend got deferred and than waitlisted and now is attending San Diego University. His stats was off the charts too and a 3 sport athlete, not sure about EC or major. I think essays have a lot to do with it.

A documentary on admissions would be incredible.

+1 Same here. Parent of a ND student who was deferred last year. Hang in there!

A couple of thoughts on the decision date/time… I would doubt they would ever release decisions on St Patrick’s Day, or even on its eve. Spring break begins after classes today, and there are no classes next week. Regular decisions have tended to come out during break.

Does anyone know how much ND compares you to the people applying from the same high school and area? I know several people from my high school that applied RD (after I applied REA and was deferred), and I was wondering if it would help me since I have stronger GPA, class rank, and ACT?

@Exmark - Your post made me think. So I just did a little looking and found that last year the decisions came out on March 18th. This was NOT during spring break (March 5-13). I hope your comment “regular decisions have tended to come out during break” is true since next week is spring break. My DS was deferred this year, so the wait since application was submitted (Oct 21st) is painful.
