**Official Notre Dame Regular Decision Class of 2021 Thread**

“We have reviewed your application for admission and are convinced that you are likely to be admitted to Notre Dame…” Is this the same as a likely letter?"

No it is not a likely letter. Although someone might think it is a “likely letter” given that it is (i) a letter from a college which (ii) uses the word “likely” specifically with respect to your chances of being admitted. This is a TOTALLY different thing than a likely letter. Obvi.

FYI, an invite to the invitation-only Reilly visit program is pretty much a likely letter. Those invites go out to uncommitted REA accepted students and also to not yet accepted RD students that ND wants to target, schmooze and close for enrollment. So long as you stay out of jail, you can expect to be accepted once the decision day arrives.

@thinkpositive421 if this were last year I would say that means we get decisions next Monday. But REA emails were sent on a Wednesday and decisions released on a Monday so that was 5 days. I don’t think Saturday, and I definitely don’t think Friday due to it being Saint Patrick’s day. I think Thursday is the best option, but that’s also just pure speculation. They normally send them out during spring break as far as I know

@thinkpositive421 also I just checked my emails. Received portal email at 7:41 central time and then decisions email at 6:05. Neither are 1642 military time as people have said.

Wait have you all gotten emails already on how to access the portal or whatever? Are we still speculating on what time/date decisions will be released?

@3589Annabel RD emails for portals haven’t gone out yet, but I have mine from REA (I was deferred). I am expecting to get emails today, but honestly no one even knows

@northwesty well I also thought it was a likely letter, but I have never heard of one being in the form of an invite to a spring visit so that is where the confusion came in. I appreciate the response though!

For EA, I got an email on December 7 at around 8 PM Eastern Time that said decisions would be released soon and it contained a link to the decision portal. On December 12 at 7:05 PM, I got an email saying that decisions were up BUT because I saw people posting on this site, I knew that decisions were up earlier. They were up at 6:42 and the email came out about 20 minutes later!

Everybody is stressing me out. Portal this, portal that, likely this, likely that.
Just wanna find out soon and prove that #normalkidsdogreatthingstoo
lol shoutout to whoever put that. Rereading all these comments that’s what stuck out

There having network issues according to twitter - so grades for students are delayed. I wonder if that means we will wait longer too?

@threebeans that makes sense

I don’t think it has to do with us… Just current ND students.

I wish they would just give a day. This is killing me I had a dream last night I was waitlisted and wanted to cry

At least the bachelor finale will partially distract me.

Folks, just go back and read the RD thread from March 2016 and the REA thread from December 2016 and you can see EXACTLY how this rolls out. It really isn’t that complicated.

For REA in December, the following email was received at 7:58 pm ET on December 7:

"We are writing to remind you that admission decisions will be released in mid-December for Restrictive Early Action. We will contact you at this email address when decisions have been released.

In preparation for the mid-December release, below please find a link to your Applicant Status Page. Decisions will be available via this Status Page in mid-December."

At exactly 6:42 pm ET on 12/12 my kid logged in and learned that she was accepted. That is when the portal was updated. At EXACTLY 6:42 pm ET on 12/12. And you can see that people were posting about their decisions here on CC beginning EXACTLY at 6:42 pm ET.

At 7:05 pm ET, my kid (who had already checked the portal and received the decision by then) got the following email:

"We are writing to advise you that admission decisions for Restrictive Early Action have been released.

Please click on the “Applicant Status Page” link and enter your previously established password. If you have forgotten your password, you will be given the option to reset it."

All clear now?

I just receive my non-portal portal!!! From email

So late March huh, idk if Mar 18~20 counts as late March

ahhhh holy moly its actuallly happeningggggg

Ugh I guess Friday is the day?! Not emotionally ready for this! Even though I applied about 5-6 months ago…

holy crap. I just keep telling myself “prepare for rejection. you will be rejected. prepare for rejection. you will be rejected”. I hope this mantra causes me to not be disappointed come decision day. Like how presumptuous would it be to even hope for an acceptance (at least in my case)!!

There are so many schools probably going to release decisions on Friday, I will be sleepless on Friday
