If you’re accepted there’s a picture of the dome that says congratulations welcome home. On the ea thread there’s a rejection letter copy and pasted somewhere
@thinkpositive421
Dear person not going to notre dame,
The Committee on Admissions is grateful for the significant time and effort you have invested in the application process. We have completed our review of your credentials, and I am sorry to inform you that we cannot offer you admission to Notre Dame.
Notre Dame strives to be an institution that educates the whole person and because of our mission we attract a special type of applicant. Your impressive academic record and personal qualities testify to this fact. The most difficult part of our evaluation process is to know that so many of our applicants are qualified and would be successful here. It is only within the context of an extremely talented group of applicants that our difficult decisions can be understood. I want to assure you that your choice to apply in Restrictive Early Action was not a factor in the outcome of your application.
We are notifying you of a final decision at this time because we do not want to delay your college planning. We fully recognize that our loss often proves to be another university’s gain. Given your excellent potential for college work and the contributions you have made to your community, we are confident you will accomplish great things wherever your talents lead you.
Please know that you have honored us with your interest in Notre Dame. Your application received our thorough review, and we appreciate your understanding of the decision we have made. Please accept my best wishes for success in all your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Mundy
Director of Admissions
@northwesty @Seacoast there’s is the Reilley visit and the Spring Visitation Weekends. I’m talking about the Spring Visit, since that was referenced earlier in the thread. About 100 get invited per weekend (there are 3), but the applicant pool is close to 20,000 strong (per 2016 data), and over 3600 applicants were admitted from the same data set. I don’t think ~300/3600 is many since that is roughly(or a bit over) 8%- almost akin to the number of likely letters from a college such as an Ivy League school.
Reilley is an awesome opportunity! That is amazing!
it’s funny how they write a whole letter. You know based off the first word if your accepted or not. They should save some time and just write “yes” or “no” that’s all I need lol
I wish i got a likely letter lol
I wake up and check CC. It is comforting but I get so anxious when I see so many new comments bc then I think decisions were released
@balletgirl17 same I’m freaking out about decisions
What’s your temporary pin?
Just got the email
Anyways. Not much time to stalk this thread (which is out of character for me) because it’s my spring break and I’m out of the country on vacation (which you guys I’ve literally gone everywhere for cell service to check this when I should be enjoying break) so yeah I’m only freaking out a little… mainly because UCLA for sure comes out Friday and ND will be very soon thereafter… if I don’t get in I will be attending Univ. of Florida or UT Austin. curious to hear what schools the rest of you will attend if not.
Just took a look at the rejection letter, honestly pretty well written.
Yeah as far as rejection letters go this one is pretty good
Hey guys reading through EA CC thread, it looks like people were able to go to confirm.nd.edu before decisions came out and put in the info (ID is found when you log into your Notre Dame portal) and people who could login got in. I’m not sure if it works (it didn’t work for me, and I’m not sure if that means I didn’t get in, or if it just doesn’t work yet for us RD kids) worth a shot though!
shoot I tried that and it said my combination didn’t work… is that what it said for you @3589Annabel ? But i think they have to update the portal first maybe?
I think that only starts working 20-30 min before decisions are released on the portal probably too early to tell rn
Everyone check and see if it works!
@balletgirl17 yes that’s what it said for me too! Just curious if it worked for anyone.
Okay it looks like it updated at 5pm CT on the day it’s released.
Also, are we thinking friday is the day we will hear back?
Thursday at the earliest
