And ND admissions seems to be tweeting a lot today. I’m hoping that we can all be relieved one way or another very soon!
Does anyone know how many were waitlisted last year and how many were accepted off the waitlist?
But i would like to know how i cant get the ID number?
Usually 40-80 people are pulled but some times (like in 2015) they take none.
@Jibbm9 - Log in to the portal you were given by email. When you get to the page that says decisions will be released the end of march, look for your ND ID on that page. That’s number you’re looking for.
ND admission tweeted an hour ago that they will be back next week from spring break. I don’t know if that means anything but to all the speculators out there, I just wanted you to know
Thanks to those who answered. Very helpful
Also, @mimimo7890 I’m curious where else did you apply?
@northwesty you clearly didn’t read the EA thread. If you had, you would’ve seen that what you said was entirely false.
“If you couldn’t get in to get to that screen, you ended up deferred or rejected. No idea if it will work that way for this go round.”
I was accepted and nominated for merit scholarships and I couldn’t get in through the “backdoor”
@nduclaunc my top choices are nd, bc, umich, northwestern, and USC. If I don’t get into any of these I will end up an nova! What about you?
@Kole469 I think they meant the students. Students are the ones who take over Tuesdays, not the admissions officers. (I think?)
Mango – as I recall from December, there was one person (which was you I guess) for which the back door was not an accurate tell.
So maybe the back door was only 95% accurate. Or maybe there was some account issue or user error that was limited to you. Or maybe ND is just messing with us all. And maybe ND has plugged the hole for this go round.
: )
@DryMango yes when I was reading the EA thread I noticed there were a few exceptions (including you) my best guess is as theyre updating confirm, people are able to log on but it doesnt get updated all at once so even if you can’t get on you still have a chance… being able to is a sure sign of admission tho
Just want to know the decision! ND is my last decision so once I hear, I can officially decide
does anyone know if it hurts your chances if you aren’t a legacy?
@balletgirl17 being a legacy at ND is a hook so it help but it doesnt necessarily hurt to not be one
@balletgirl17 I’m sure it doesn’t “hurt.” But, it definitely gives you an advantage. If you are compared to a legacy then I can see it hurting, but if you are compared to another normal applicant then it doesn’t hurt. It’s kind of like being Hispanic or African American. It just gives you an upper leg. Luck of the draw honestly.
Hoping my legacy status helps me a LOT.
Lol.
And @mimimo7890 I applied to 8 schools, but my top were always UNC, UCLA or Notre Dame (hence my username haha ) but I was rejected UNC (OOS is so hard). So if I am also rejected from Notre dame and UCLA, I’ll be attending Texas or Florida.
@nduclaunc good luck! I have a sibling and I know it probably won’t make up for my low stats but I’m hoping it’ll give me a boost
Accepted to BC EA and UMich, but deferred UNC OOS, really praying for an ND acceptance
