**Official Notre Dame Regular Decision Class of 2021 Thread**

Does a sibling carry any weight as a legacy or is ND looking for parents / grandparents as a legacy

I’ve been trying to figure that out too. I don’t think it counts as a legacy but it will help if you’re on the edge. I’ve also seen that if a sibling is currently a student they tend to want to keep siblings/families together but it all depends on luck really

I know this isn’t the point of this thread but do you think I have a good chance with a 96W and 1540 SAT? Decent ECs and good essays. I’m just so nervous and kinda got excited about ND pretty late. I applied so last minute.

Looking at all options and was hoping the sibling status might help with only a 32 on ACT. Brother graduating in May.

It probably will

I think it’s hard to say without seeing total picture.
32 ACT
5.76 gpa / 5.0 scale
Rank 5 / 509
9 AP classes / 9 Honors classes
Sibling
Received 4 year NROTC scholarship
Leadership roles: Capt Football, Baseball, Freshman mentor, tutor
Other EC and awards / comfortable with essays
And can’t stop worrying…so so nervous this isn’t going to be enough when compared to the application pool.

You seem pretty competitive, id say you’d have a decent chance

@mimimo7890 I remember us both discussing low stats and hoping for legacy to pull us through  haha. Would love for us to both get in AHHH but I honestly just have too much hope for someone who has such a small chance.

Fwiw, having a sibling attend does not count as a legacy, only parents do. That being said, ND tends to be one of those schools that admit/ enroll siblings at a relatively high rate. My guess is more so than legacy it has to do with the self-selection of the applicant pool with regard to the unique characteristics of the school. (Disclaimer- I currently have two non-legacy, unhooked kids attending who were both originally deferred REA.)

@nduclaunc low stats representtttt and I know I keep imagining opening the portal and seeing Congratulations! but I know its a one in a million chance at the same time

I’m hoping my story will help a lot I’m low income first gen and live in an area with a really bad public school system so I ended up getting a full scholarship to a small very catholic school in a much nicer area that ND has never accepted anyone from, of course theres a very small sample size… only 2 people applied in the past 5 years

hi guys! as I’m sure many of you are, I’m TOTALLY freaking out right now. can’t tell if i missed this earlier in the thread, but are there some speculated dates about when decisions will be released? i can’t live with this anxiety much longer haha

I still don’t know how to get my ID number. Can someone tell me about it?

I received an email last night with a PIN. is that what you are talking about?

If you log into your enrollment portal it tells you the ID number which you’ll need if you get accepted

@jibbm9 log onto your portal and at the top right it says NDid

@Jibbm9 - are you seeing that people have been answering your question?

Hi all - I am an ND alum ('85) whose D applied RD. We are both sitting on “pins and needles” now waiting for decision day just like the rest of you. To be honest, I have been stalking this thread since it’s inception and had to comment on how impressed I have been with how positive and supportive everyone in this group have been as you all go through this process together. This commitment to each other and one’s community, no matter how small or unique the community, is precisely the spirit and type of student ND admissions counselors are looking for in the next freshman class. I will be so happy and proud if each and everyone of you were to be classmates with my D next fall. Good luck to everyone. We are ND!

Did anyone else notice that ND’s 25-75 testing percentiles didn’t seem completely accurate. It said the ACT was a 33-35, while the SAT was a 1440-1540. So ND is saying that a 1440 is a 33? I have a 1430:) – I also have a sibling who graduated and now goes to grad school there. Hopefully that helps!

i got an email asking for more info for financial aid… is that a good sign or is it just something they send everyone?
