Anyone check the portal?
guess it’s not today lol. no email and portal still has the same message about decisions being released in late march
I just did. No decisions yet. Well. That was anticlimactic.
Feeling kind of down. Two of my tops sent out like letters that I didn’t get and another one of schools sent out scholar acceptances, which I didn’t recieve. These colleges just love to mess around, just give me an answer!!
are we positive it’s going to be 6:42pm?
Can someone explain what likely letters are?
Notre Dame always releases decisions at 6:42 because 6:42 is 18:42 in military time and 1842 was the year that the University of Notre Dame was founded! I personally think that’s pretty cool
Also, likely letters are letters that universities send out to candidates they REALLY want. They cannot extend an official acceptance because they are not allowed to release decisions yet, however they notify the candidate that it is highly likely they will get admitted in order to let the candidate know not to put down a deposit anywhere else. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe likely letters are typically sent only to the very top percent of the students they intend to admit and athletes they want to recruit for their team. Just because you do not receive one does not mean you are not accepted, so do not lose hope!
thanks, AMS! I think that’s pretty cool too.
Yikes. The stress is real. I don’t think I’m going to get much sleep tonight.
@AMS9898 thank you!
Anyone else have a strong feeling that decisions will be released tomorrow
@pizzapie7515 I really hope so. I feel like I just want to know already…
For EA someone called and the admissions office said “by the end of the week”, but then they released decisions later that day, which was a Monday if I remember correctly. It just goes to show that they give generic answers, and it will probably come out Friday or Monday.
I have a feeling about tomorrow idk why.
^^^^
I don’t even know anymore guys
On the bc thread someone mentioned how for UNC they called the IT department and they told them what the decision day was. Anyone want to take on for the team and call?
I would but my shift starts in five minutes. yikes
Likely Letters also seem to be sent to demographic groups that the university wishes to encourage to attend. The top-percenters of students receive the scholars’ invitations, as an incentive to not attend an Ivy League (or other) top school.
For those awaiting a decision, I’d recommend you concentrate on your current life. Be in-charge. Enjoy senior year. By early May, all your admissions decisions will be history, but then, you will decide where you wish to study in the fall. Re-evaluate your choices at that point. Chill for a bit, because you make the decision, in the end.
i met the notre dame cheerleaders today…makes waiting for decisions even worse because i just want to know if i’m getting my hopes up just to get my heart broken!!!
Someone has to call
Nose goes?
