So I've been a major lurker on here pretty much all week, and I just wanted to say that I completely feel everything you guys are feeling--fear, anxiety, restlessness, this-has-been-the-absolute-longest-freaking-week-of-my-life impatience, and just the largest sense of anticipation I've ever felt! I'm also an ED applicant. I applied to Steinhardt for the Media, Culture and Communicaton major, so hopefully it will work out. I hear a lot about kids getting GSPed, and I don't think that's the case with me, or I would have already been notified? I think at this point, I'm either in or out.

Anyway, I'll go ahead and introduce myself. My name's Michaela, and it gets mispronounced on way too many occasions, and I live in Atlanta, Georgia, which I absolutely despise. Anyone else here from the South?

Haha. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's been reading this thread obsessively without actually posting until tonight. I'm from Texas and applied ED to Tisch for Tech Track.

Fact: Some people here will receive a denial from NYU. (Me being one of them. Don't give me the "you never know...", it's just not happening.)

So I was thinking, will we still be united, once we split into "accepted" and "rejected"? I feel like we won't :-/
But it's been good knowing a brotherhood, or a companionship has formed through our struggle against the harshness that NYU has caused us all.

ya, foreign language counts. Things that don't count would b like: Gov/pol, Econ, Art History, any artsy classes (for CAS and Stern anyway), stuff like that. Good luck to everyone, i'm peacing out and going to sleep. Let's all hope for a nice big package in our mailboxes tomorrow afternoon!

dont worry slater, im going to be a reject if it makes you feel better. i havent heard of any english majors there with a 3.249 gpa...ugh i hate my life.

i mean, "you never know," but i was banking on gsp..so yeah i guess i should start trying to accept what will ultimately be a rejection

I don't see why they wouldn't count courses like political science and economics. I mean, even though they're mostly required (and really easy), they're more academic than other electives.

OK I know I am a little late to comment on Criddle12's "clever" inquiry to NYU but f--- it.

Dear Criddle12,

I felt that your question was crass and made me feel embarrased to be apart of CC. OF COURSE the admissions person is going to stick to his/her original answer. That person's job is to answer people's general questions in terms of NYU's scheduled calendar. They probably are forced to say that things were mailed out on the 11th and 12th. Like I said before..take a Xanax and chill. I get that this week is intense, but seriously who the hell gets up the nerve to tell NYU that they are full of ****?...I guess it is you and "your boys."

yeah, i think history/social studies will be counted. they said when i visited that they wanted a recc. from a teacher of one of the five main subjects, and one of them was social studies.

Haha dude... chill out. I posted that because I heard from 3 different admissions people over the phone that admission letters have not been sent out.

This admin on the forum posted information that conflicted with the information that I received this morning. These people I assume work in the same office yet for some reason are offering different answers. I have every right to question his post. There are hundreds of kids bugging out and there is conflicting information going back and fourth. I don't know why you got so offended...

Yeah, I agree with Criddle12 on this one... since the forum stalkers are revealing themselves, I'm one. I TRULY feel like the rest of you girls/guys. I'm a female from the south, Houston to be specific, after just moving here from Southern CA. I applied for Gallatin ED! YIKES.

Everybody chill sign off of cc watch some tv and go to bed... freaking out can begin after school tomorrow.. there's nothing we can do right now... again... mail from nyc to nj can take up to 3 days...
