p.s - my guidance counseler's son went to NYU, and he said the hardest part was getting in, and when you actually got IN, it was a breeze. Keep in mind this kid is not a hardcore studier either...how valid do you think that is?

Hardly. Depends on the class/school, but no one here seems to be sitting around with nothing to do. In fact, NYU Stern is known for its grade deflation, the arts programs (especially ones in Tisch) are really hardcore, and my CAS friends have homework for hours every night. One of the required classes for everyone besides Gallatin, Writing the Essay, requires an essay each class -- a short one that's ungraded, but still annoying. Yeah, there's a lot of writing.

Show me what it's like to be the last one standing...

today i freaked out when i came in, my mom told me the mail was in and it was just a bunch of tiny envelopes. then we realized like half of it was opened and that is was actually yesterday's.

so the mail was supposed to come around now....still hasnt. im so nervous. i think if i dont get it today im pretty much screwed.

haha electoralgoat the other night i had a dream that i got in....it was really lovely and exciting until i woke up. but i took it as a good sign. except then the next night i dreamed that i got a letter saying they changed their minds and i actually didnt. how much does that suck.

yeah and then i think i mentioned last night i just started throwing up because of stress, i feel bad for my mom because she cant be like im sure youll get in because i dont really have that much of a chance at all...it was so sad, i just started crying

WOW, congra all, I guess we will be meeting next year at Stern :D

I'm in Virginia, and I applied early decision to Steinhardt for Music Ed. I didn't hear anything today, i'm pretty sure I didn't get in. What did you apply for?

nothing today guys. nothing again. I WILL NOT GIVE UP HOPE!

no one should give up hope...its only been like 2 days since they sent the letters out....

28 ACT (34 on math, 10 on writing)
1660 SAT (horrible, but they say they only take the higher standardized test into consideration...)
Founded the SAT/ACT club (i had one of the best ACT scores in my school, and i teamed with someone who had a 2000 SAT score. I am President. He is VP)
An outstanding essay (the best part of my app)
