i am too!!!! and peanutbutter i'm from outside of philly..

what does an 87/100 convert to on a 4.0 scale?

My school ranks acumulative gpa on a 100 scale, unlike the vast majority of high schools. I asked my guidance counselor how to convert it and she said divide 87.5/100, then multiply by 4. This comes out to a 3.5, but when I look at online conversions, it comes out to about a 3.23
which one is it???

(An 87.5 is a B+ for those of you who don't know)

I know a 90 converts to a 3.5. my school goes on a 100 scale as well, so i bet an 87's close to a 3.23 (colleges round down so they see the 87 instead of the 87.5)

ty julia and tiffiny for keeping us in ur thoughts =)

very true - the whole northeast has been having lots of cumbersome weather as of late

i meant to refer to a previous statement mentioning the unreliability of our good-ole postal service

Keep the faith! My D had already pretty much given up and got her big envelope today! We will keep thinking positive thoughts for all of you, remember USPS around Christmas time is in overload with mail sorting!

This is bad... 2 out of 5 kids from my school already heard from NYU :(
There are at least 20 students from around my area that have already been accepted into NYU...

Therefore it would appear that there is a high probability that a rejection letter is coming my way... While I am trying to stay positive... it's very hard with all of these facts working against me...

I think the problem that some of us are facing is it seems too hard to believe that "we" just happen to be the few kids who haven't heard yet from our respective areas...

It sucks that snail-mail isn't delivered on Sundays...

Best of luck to you all.

Monday will come soon enough....

And if no news comes your way Monday... There's always Tuesday... and Wednesday... and Thursday...

In the words of Kelly Osborne's tatoo, "THIS TOO SHALL PASS".

what the hell, that doesn't make sense that someone with a 95 average floats in the same 4.0 boat as someone with a perfect 100

ok so i think my essay might be a cliche
i talked about how i go to an all guys catholic ultra conservative high school and how my best friend came out of the closet and i waverd for a week or too but our friendship ended up strong. He was the only openly gay kid in a school with 1000+ kids. Our "click" remained strong and * really feel that we are best friends and it doesn't matter wether or not hes "straight" it is him as a person whos talent remains in art alsotalk about how I hate housewives and about being a mutt (1/3 native american, 1/3 chicano "mexican spanish mix", 1/3 spanish". and how i get along with every race becuase of this and how I am so excited for future multi-cultural generations

i jumped around alot haha damn requirement i also brounght in kurt vonnegut and jd Salinger His house/lodge is AMAZING!

a good vonnegut book is "Breakfast of Chamions"

the funny thing is I don't even care about if i get in or not its just the fact of knowing thats killing me.

There's a question, I applied to CAS and stated my desired major as Journalism, but the admissions letter just said "congratulations you've been accepted into the College of Arts & Sciences". No reference to field of Study. Am I to assume it's the Journalism program and or major?

Also, I have a new theory on all who have not heard. Although some will not be accepted, I think because NYU doesn't defer, maybe they literally have a last minute on the fence file? Maybe they're gauging the interest from the GSP letters (that's why they send them out earlier). One way or the other it stinks.

I was deferred at Michigan (first on the CC boards to post as such) but I felt it was important for future applicants to see...I hope everyone posts their final decisions and better yet their victorious acceptances to other schools (many of which will be as good or better than NYU)

oh maaaan, i don't think i can wait for tomorrow to come!

Same here, haha. I have work in a little bit, I'll probably read a book and watch I am Legend to pass the time away. I have a Politics project I should be doing, but I'm way too stressed out >.< Good luck to everyone.

salem, I was accepted to Stern and they never mentioned my finance major in my letter. I think this is because once you are accepted into your particular college, you can change majors to whatever you want, therefore your declared major really is irrelevant.

ahh...monday is so far away.

um so i have another theory on why some people still havent heard..
do you think they mail out the letters in alphabetical order??
for the people who havent heard yet, so your last names begin with letters closer to the end of the alphabet??

do your names**

My last name starts with a D and I live twenty mins out of the city in westchester NY. Didn't get anything yet but people in other schools near mine have gotten acceptance letters
