-= Official NYU '12 ED Decisions Thread =-

No guys, you have to declare your field of study once you get here. I declared econ and it shows up undecided on Albert.

well mine starts with X...... but akshan already proved that wrong

damn..

well maybe it could still be accurate...
mine starts with v and my friends who lives in the same town starts with t and we havent heard anything yet, but the third kid in our town who applied has a last name with an m and they heard on sat.

oops i mean other people with different last names i'm not sure what their last names start with because I just saw them on facebook in that NYU 2012 group.

I asked whether all acceptance or denial letters were sent out by friday and when the last batch was sent out on the NYU forum on thier website. I'll update once my question gets answered.

sry to hear that kdh... =(

wait sorry to hear what?

... someone posted that they got rejected and then deleted their post...

so have people definitely started getting rejections? i really have no idea because im the only one from my school who applied, and i feel like most would not post here.

i asked a question to the nyu forum about letters that havent been received yet...mainly, when did the last mailing go out, and would it be more probable to expect a rejection letter seeing as those were mailed a little later. ill let you guys know as well when it gets answer, although i dont know if they do anything on the weekends.

but at least i can TRY to relax today...im just pigging out and attempting to get some schoolwork done that ive neglected for the past week.

ohh... sorry who ever that was...

one more question too, kind of as reassurance to myself. i dont know if it will make sense here, but i might as well try.

ok, so we all know NYU's acceptance rate is low, even for early decision. but i was thinking, could it just be low because there is more competition at some schools that others? i mean, im applying for CAS but was considering Stern; however, my college advisor told me i have absolutely zero chance at Stern because the stats you need are much higher than many programs at CAS. I dont really know how the music programs factor into this, but it makes sense to me. I know that they probably dont break their admissions percentages down into the individual schools, but it seems like there are factors that make it a lot harder than some of the programs that people such as me, an English major, are applying to.

i think their acceptance rate is pretty good actually. compared ot like wesleyan and harvard (12% and 8% respectively) nyu has about 34% acceptance rate. which is statistically almost up to 45% during early decision..so thats pretty damn good. but im still freaking out.

we have just lost cabin pressure

Just a thought but is kinda dumb. Maybe they sent them to our guidance counselors? Who knows, it could happen. Just thought I'd share a possibility. First thing I'm doing tommrow when I get to school is checking with my counselor and if he doesn't have it i'm gonna make him call. If I get any important info i'll post it.

Thanks tiffiny, I'm from long island, ny

we all met nyu's deadline.. why can't they meet their own?

I agree with you electoralgoat.

"we all met nyu's deadline.. why can't they meet their own?"

Best NYU CC quote ever alongside Criddle's NYU Forum question =D

Still worried, even though I know there's no mail on Sundays. This stress is gonna kill me!

Edit: HA! I love it, electoralgoat!

Electoralgoat is absolutely right. I just hate how that "New York University Class of 2012" Facebook group has grown to over 300 people, and we have yet to receive our decisions. Only one other person from my school applied to NYU ED, and she hasn't heard yet either. However, in the Facebook group, there is a thread that asks where everyone is from, and one person who posted is from Atlanta, so now I'm just a little more worried. Yeah, I know I'm obsessed, but this wait and uncertainty is absolutely consuming me!
