i dont really have a favorite movie. i mean, ive seen good ones but i dont know.

for book though, id have to say the amber spyglass by phillip pullman. it's the third book in the goldan compass series, which im sure youve all heard about. actually theyre all my favorite books. i also love the short story "the open boat' by stephan crane.

um, if you are an english freak like me and youre bored...type in stephan crane, the open boat on google.

romeo and juliet i also liked...im reading atonement now too and it's pretty good

the amber spyglass was amazing. I work at the movies, and let me tell you..the movie was pretty different. Same for I Am Legend, but it was still a solid movie.
As for movies...tampopo, fight club, donnie darko, amelie, pulp fiction, reservoir dogs, true romance, dare mo shiranai, the italian....many many many more >.<

tomorrow is almost here :P I'm going home early tomorrow just for the mail(to find out that it will really come on Tuesday -_-.)

yeah, ive been reading a lot to get my mind off of waiting too. im in the middle of this book called girls of riyadh which i really like. its like an intellectual, well written version of gossip girl thats set in ultra-conservative saudi arabia. im also in the middle of reading sellovision by augusten burroughs (funniest author ever), which i would highly recommend to brighten spirits.

dang i actually really wish i had taken the one where the open boat was on it...maybe i would have gotten higher my 700. i freaking love that story.

and yes, the amber spyglass is incredible. i love those books so much im seriously considering naming my daughter if i ever have one lyra, haha. the golden compass movie wasnt bad either, it just didnt compare to the book. plus roger was the ugliest kid id ever seen and the lyra girl really needed to brush her teeth.

and YES my mom is so f.ucking annoying. shes forcing me to go over all my other college apps with her tonight, even though theyre edited within an inch of my life. i even had a newspaper editor read all of my supplements and give suggestions for changes. plus im so tired of her because i think shes worried that ill go crazy this year, so shes being really really really strict about everything. im not even allowed to go to my own senior week in june.

she keeps telling me that i better let her check my stuff because i dont want to end up in agony over colleges like i am now. i mean, come on, i havent even received the letter yet!! shes being so negative. i really just want to be in already so i can be like HAHA I DO WHAT I WANT. aside from schoolwork, obviously haha

I saw a man pursuing the horizon;
Round and round he sped.
I was disturbed at this;
I accosted the man.
"It is futile," I said,
"You can never -"

"You lie," he cried,
And ran on.

Stephen Crane (One of my favorite poems)

ps. shantaram does look good, thanks for the suggestion slater

alright well im out for awhile guys, im gonna go get some coldstone and eat away my anxious and nervous feelings about tomorrow...

EDIT- lunasea, thats an awesome poem, thanks for sharing. i really need to look up more stephen crane stuff seeing as im obessed with the open boat...

yeah, shantaram hooks you right from the opening sentence. Each page is more riveting and captivating than the next. The way he writes...it's as if you are experiencing everything first hand. He creates a visual more real than life itself.

Right now i'm reading Fight Club for school, it's also a great book. I highly recommend it.

The NYU board administrator answered questions today. He or she told me that all acceptances and denials are in the mail at this point and I should hear by Monday or Tuesday. I was also told the snail-mail is due to weather. With today's weather in NY i'm doubting if Monday will bring anything. To make things worse my mail doesn't come til three. Why can't they just put it onlineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Omg I love Fight Club... I wish my school required us to read it! Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite author. I'm currently reading "Rant"... disgustingly good.

You know this is a lot like christmas eve or the day before your birthday, only on a daily loop, thus causing traumatic irreparable psychological damage :D
