...Accepted!
I haven't been posting, but I HAVE been reading for the last few days, and getting more and more anxious as people started getting rejected, especially since my stats just aren't that good! I got the letter this morning.

I think that I got in because A. I have talent and passion, and that's what Tisch is looking for. B. My application conveys my personality very strongly and I have already proved that I can succeed academically at NYU, and I think the admissions committee thought I'd be a good character fit for the school. C. NYU traditionally likes my school.

Really, I don't know. I'm just happy and excited. To all of you who haven't gotten in, don't give up, stay strong, and good luck!

asian girl from jerseyyyyyyyyyyy
i guess life goes on... once i start all my other apps. ahahah. boo.

....wow...ilovehok...you looks like more than qualified...

you know, this might sound weird, but i was reading an article about how schools like to fill up their quota of "lower gpa" students during the early decision time because they know theyll get really great kids during the regular pool so they can basically pass off on them now (or defer them). i duno..

Hm... that sounds interesting.

yeah but i duno how much truth that holds

REPEAT

I went straight to Hebrew 3 from Hebrew 1. I took the Hebrew Regents too. Does this count as 2, 3 or 4 years of hebrew? Binghamton Reguires 3 years of foreign language. I don't know if i'll get in if I don't fulfill this one basic requirement

slater, give Binghamton a call and ask. It's unlikely that anyone here knows for sure.

For those of you who didn't get in, I know it sucks but hopefully, if you were smart, you have your other applications ready to go and you can focus on another school. Even if you're angry, I don't know why people start saying such negative things about NYU when they don't get in. If you'd gotten an acceptance, you'd have been thrilled, and you know it. Be happy for the people here who have gotten in, the people you've become friendly with at CC, and then move on. Talking **** about how NYU wasn't really your top choice just sounds immature now. Mourn for a couple of days and then move on. You'll find a school where you can be just as happy, trust me. It happens every year. The one piece of advice I'd give is not to focus on going to another school with the plan of transferring to NYU. Give your school a chance to be the right school for you and chances are it will work out, and keep in mind that transfer admission is almost always more difficult than freshman admission.

Lastly, academic stats for E.D. applicants are almost always higher overall than they are for R.D.

congrats to everyone who's gotten in! and sorry to those who havent :/

i still haven't even received the student news thing in the mail that everyone got like a week ago.. i'm wondering if ANYTHING is ever coming in my mailbox.

based on all these results, I'm setting my sights on Fordham more now...

It doesn't look very hopeful for me for NYU for regular decision

sigh.

could today be the day?

It better be.

letidavalos, i think we're the only two left on these threads because we havent heard back yet.

Nope, you're not the only two. I haven't heard back either. Hopefully today, although I hate the feeling of waiting for rejection.

yeah and on top of it all, the mail is late.
it shouldnt be late, its barely drizzling. and now my aunts and my mom are home drinking tea which sucks cos theyre all around and im gna be super disappointed.

Ugh. ChelsM18, where are you from?

Hey TechieWench:

Do you go to Judson High School by chance? 570 sounds about right for Judson's graduating class.

Congratulations on being accepted! I'll be a Studio Art major in Steinhardt next year.

Hope you went to Judson. That'd be a happy coincidence!

mail came again...and still no word..
this is crazy. My son seems to be taking it in stride.
congrats to those that are getting any kind of info.
I guess we will wait another day. Just need to know something so we can get other applications in the slow mail.... just in case.
Reading these notes are comical...Life is more than just what school you go too....I spent this time last year in IRAQ..dealing with kids your age that will never be able to go to college...because they were hit by sniper fire. so keep things in perspective...there are worse things than not going to the school of your choice...
