alright, the day of our fated rendezvous with destiny (to make this so much more dramatic than it is) looms near, slumbering upon the horizon.

this thread is for any questions, any suggestions, any tips, ANYTHING that can help someone taking the chem sat II.

for those about to rock, we salute you.

I'm going to start prepping today, exactly 1 week before the test. I'm I screwed??

BTW, how good is Kaplan's chemistry review book?

so am i. i've hardly done anything and i'm doing 3 - 2c, Physics and Chem. I'm dead....

same as jehangircama... and i'm still workin on my college essays which i plan to finish before i start prep!!! ED deadline is like nov 1st. and my exams begin oct 11!!! i'm soooo screwed!

Haha, I took the last SAT II Chem. test (the one in June). If it matters, I thought it was A LOT easier than the practice tests (in particular, compared to Barron's, Kaplan).

If you do anything between now and Saturday... take a Princeton Review practice test... I got a 750 on it the night before, and got a 750 on the real thing.

i got 750 without prep in the PR test. now i've done a few chapters so hopefully will get closer to 800.

So I'm not totally screwed? I still have time?

the PR book seems pretty good, i'm nearly through with it. though i haven't done any practice tests. ehhh. i'm nervous.

I think you should either know the chem or not...I studied for it like a week before test and got 710, which is decent i guess...

Also, I was studying from the Princeton Review AP Chem book b/c I was studying for the AP Test at the same time. Got a 5 on the AP Test.

Had you taken chemistry before omg, or were you starting from scratch?

anyone know how many questions someone can get wrong and still pull off around a 770 or so? how about omissions?

i need this put into perspective because those True-False questions are killing me slowly, like a machete lowered inchwise from the heavens.

lol stop it YOU DAMNED SILVER HAMMER...

hahhaah I cracked your identity today!!!!!

...that's sad considering I'm your best friend YOU IDIOT lol

these true-falses are the bulk of my problem. anyone have a good strategy for them, in terms of omitting them?

may the force be with you on those problems

haha, i'm taking chem, IIc, and US history next week. well technically we have less than a week... I'm kinda screwed because my Chem teacher had a stroke last year in March, so I haven't learned anything on carbon and organic chem and I'm not that comfortable with the lab set-ups. right now I have barons, but do you guys think i should try to get PR?

yeah the PR book is awesome. and just read over barron's/PR's sections on descriptive chem and i think you should be fine for that.

eyez:

Well I did state that I was taking AP Chem. Sorry if i wasn't clear but I was taking the class.

Okay, from someone who get a 750...

My friend got like 20 wrong, and got a 710... I thought I only got 3 or 4 wrong, and got a 750. My other friend, who got a 760, also thinks he got 3 or 4 wrong.

Basically, if you get many questions wrong (About 15/20) you'll get a 710, 700, or 720, but if you get 3 or 4 wrong, you'll get around a 750.

Its a steep curve...

then 800 is like 2 wrong or something?!!
