OFFICIAL October ACT Curve Predictions for a 36

Start discussing! What do people think?

I think English and reading might be slightly better than usual…not by much though… I say -3 might correspond to 34 on both…-4 for math for a 34…one point per question for upper science scores

For each section!?
75 for english
59-60 for math
39-40 for reading
40 for science

Do you guys think 59/60 or 60/60 math is a 36 for this test? There were a couple trick questions.

I think so…it’s not too unusual for that to happen on math

Are you leaning on 59 or 60? I hope 59 because that’s what I need to get a 36 :stuck_out_tongue: got one wrong

I’m going to make a complete prediction:

—English------------Math------------Reading------------Science
36|–75-------------58-60------------39-40----------------40--------|36
35|-73-74-----------56-57--------------38---------------------------|35
34|–72-------------54-55--------------37------------------39-------|34
33|–71---------------53---------------36---------------------------|33
32|–70---------------52-------------34-35-----------------38-------|32
31|–69---------------51---------------33------------------37-------|31
30|–68---------------50---------------32------------------36-------|30
29|-66-67-------------49--------------31-------------------35-------|29
28|–65-------------47-48-------------30-------------------34-------|28

This is based on what i’ve taken with the ACT red book. Just compared their curves and tests with the test we took today. Of course, it is all MY opinion

@treyinator Your science section seems way too harsh. It was easy, per se, but there’s no way -2 could be a 32.

Agreed ^

I got a 30 on science in September and I’m pretty sure I got around 6+ wrong.

In response to Treyinator’s curves:
Reading looks right

Science will probably be slightly more generous than that

Math looks about right (maybe even slightly more generous due to the immense complaints of the forum)

English looks right.

My own predictions for a 36: E: 75 M: 58-60 R:40 S:40

I’m hoping for a 36 if the math and english sections curve in our favor.

36C-E: 74; M: 58-60; R: 38-39; S: 40

English was a tad bit harder than the practice tests I took due to the vocab questions and some of the more awkward sentences. Math was good until the last 10 questions. Reading was harder imo. Twins passage=worst thing I’ve ever read.

Science was a cakewalk.

English was more difficult than normal, but I’ve never seen an English curve have a -1 be a 36.

The most generous English curve in the red book is 75 = 36, 72-74 = 35, 71 = 34

If anyone could point out a test in which a 74 was a 36 then I would reconsider.

mines still says “registered” why? what does yours say?
