Official October ACT Math Thread

i got 6x as large

Area of a rhombus is not bh/2 … thats a triangle buddy.

I got 12 times as large

definitely 12x as large

2:24 was the ratio I believe

Splitting it into 4 trianges? That’s smart. :slight_smile:

Arg, 1 wrong for sure.

ht=16t^2 +32-48
I got 1, because I graphed it on my calculator. The y value is 64 when x=1.

oops its the diagonal1*diagonal2/2

I got x12 for the cylinder one. And sorry but i am not remembering finding an area of a rhombus… does anyone remember the question?

width time aptitude(height)

^ 12 times as large.

So can anyone help me with #58…the question was:

Sinx > 1/2 Cos X or something like that…and I was trying to decide between tanx > 1/2 and tanx < 2

it is 1/2

tan = sin/cos

tanx > 1/2

tan < 1/2 not > it was not divided by a negative so the sign doesn’t change

was there even an option between tan >/< 1/2…I remember putting tan (whichever) 1/2

^ that’s what I meant. I used Sinx > 1/2 Cos X cuz that’s what vince wrote.

does anyone remember the other answer choices to the csc question with the answer 5/2

Well that makes two that I’ve missed…that one and the (-3, 2) one. I think I probably missed about four…does anyone remember the answer to the perimeter of the larger triangle or the one that asked how many students had one or more cats?

there was only 1 choice that had tan and 1/2 together

@ftm: those were the options… I spent the most time on that question. You could either choose tanx > 1/2 or tanx < 2
