I think a question asked what S = ?, where S^2 doesn’t equal 25, did anyone get (s-5)/(s+5)? Or something like that

Can someone elaborate on the squareroot of 27 question? I can’t remember what I put at all.
Also, for the tent, I just did the Pythagorean theorem. How did you get it? What was the answer?
Does anyone remember how they did the one with 7.5 as the answer? I’m positive that is what I got, but I think I had to guess between that and the answer below it.

What was the 6025 one? I don’t remember.

^ The 6025 one was when you started off with 25 and had to multiply 3 times every hour

@lauray: yeah, it was like (x +5)/ (x-5) or something like that.

@kg: It gave you the whole base as 6; if you were to draw a line from the top to the bottom and bisect it into two right triangles, then the base would then be 3. They gave you the hypotenuse as 6, so the square root of (6 squared minus 3 squared) which is the square root of 27- so the answer was 5.

@ftm: it was the question that said the number of cells or whatever tripled every hour…you just had to multiply this specific number by 3 for a certain number of hours to get 6025

Oh, so the tent question WAS the sqrt27 / 5 question? They were the same question…wow. Reading this thread, I assumed they were two different and couldn’t remember ever getting sqrt27.
Thanks!

^ lol yeah, they are one and the same

That triangle/tent one, after the altitude was drawn, it was a 30-60-90 triangle, right?

All I did was type 3 times the square root of 3 into my calculator.

mastermania
yeah, i got it that way too
but 3sqrt3 same thing as sqrt27
other people used pythagorean

do you guys remember what the distance from one midpoint to the other was? i remember it was around 7…and the answer was a radical…
but i think i may have missed it. anyone know?

i think i put B for that one
forgot what the exact and answer was though
they gave like a diagram

does anyone remember specifics about that problem?

i also put B i believe… was it like sqrt52?

^yeah, that’s what I got

I thought that one was around five but I guessed cause I forgot the distance formula

If I remember correctly, on the one with the distance of the two midpoints, I think I had square root of 34.

I thought so master too and I am VERY SURE I put B.

I guessed B on that one and the last 2. I don’t know why I couldn’t get it but I read the problem wrong. Right when I figured out it was still B they called time, lol.

It was SQRT of 25+9 = 34

^definitely rings a bell
i know i put B for that one then

Was sqrt of 34 the only answer that was 5.### cause I remember putting something that when worked out equals 5

Do u guys think there is any chance of -3 = 34?

I still think there’s a decent chance for -3=35 :)
