So the passage with shigeru miyamoto was experimental? What other texts were found along with the one about shigeru miyamoto

Wait, the head of Nintendo? That Miyamoto? I wish I got that passage!

Right? I totally love nintendo so already knew everything the article said.

I had a major suspicion it was experimental while taking it though, I could just imagine a bunch of girls coming and saying it favored boys.

But anyways, it was definitely experimental so what other questions were found in that section?

EDIT: By the way optimoose unflattered referred to the way dinosaurs were first described in the passage “dinomania”

What were the other answers for the dinomania question?

what was the answer to teh question that asked what could be substituted for “cold” in “cold steel”

Too many to remember optimoose, sorry there is a list floating around somewhere here

Calbear, I think i remember putting “precision of steel”

If you can remember any other possible answers I’ll be able to tell you for sure

^ Untrue. The first passage didn’t really address writing classes themselves, and the second paragraph emphasized both a good teacher and the presence of peers. I believe the answer choice used something like “primarily” or “most importantly,” but neither passage implied that peer “editing” was the most important part of the classes (just one aspect).

phlegmatic was the answer to which question???

^ Something about a dog not easily being aroused to action. One of the other choices was “resolute.”

So NOBODY but me had a passage about Shigeru Miyamoto? I haven’t seen anyone else bring it up yet but me

^^ya I read previous posts and there seems to be a lot of disagreement. I believe the actual answer choice wasn’t peer editing but something about cooperation or opinion of other peers which was definitely mentioned by both passages. Either way a lot of people are going to be proven wrong come the 25th, which cannot come fast fast enough

For the apes passage there was a question about how the 2 passages differed.

the answers were either passage 1 considered motives of scientists or something about animal behavior

does anyone know if this has been resolved?

The other good answer choice for alternative explanation was to ackownlodge an unjustified bias

^^ people haven’t really talked much about that question but I went with “considered motives.” I personally thought that it was the hardest question on the entire test because none of the answer choices seemed correct as opposed to having two questions that both seemed right. I ended up going with what looked “less wrong” than the rest

I put “considered motives”, because in the last paragraph of the second passage the chimp researcher stated that many scientists would be unlikely to admit that chimps could understand the language because it would have far-reaching implications, proving that humans weren’t unique… Something along those lines.

This was a huge difference between the passages, because it basically attacked the argument of the author of passage 1 by identifying a possible ulterior motive.

But I agree, that question was difficult. I had to read it a few times.

For those of you that had an experimental CR section, was it in section 2 of your exam (after the essay)? Thanks!

^^ nope lol mine was about Disneyland

so far the CR experimental section consists of one of the following:

disneyland
sonny and edgar
mars and venus
cold war
shigeru miyamoto

were all of these in SECTION 2 right after the essay?

In other words was this the order?

section 1 - essay
section 2 - experimental section with 8 vocab, 2 short, 1 long passage
section 3 - real CR (8 vocab, 2 short, 1 long passage)

wait, for the creative writing passage, there were 4 questions, correct?
was “learning to write predated classes” and “useful but unnecessary” part of the same question or answers for 2 different questions?

also, was the dino passage purpose about a cultural change?

i think this hasn’t been mentioned before, or at least the question was asked and no answer was posted… for #1 in a section the answer was “seeks” she didn’t seek advice, she liked to do things on her own or something :)
