Thread on Oct. SAT I

How do you think about the test today. Please try to recall all the questions you still remember.

in writing section, I think it was #10.
It was something about…don’t quite remember the first part, but the second part goes like “the building was instead moved.” Was it A (correct as it is) or E?
Choice E was something like “Having…, the building was instead moved.”

I chose “Having been removed…”

yes, I did get that writing question… I was between a and e as well, but I quickly chose E in the end because of what the front half of the sentence was referring to. I’m not entirely sure though.
Did anyone have a short paragraph about architecture? If so, what was the one about the “cold” steel? none of them really made sense to me.
I literally JUST came home from taking it.

Im pretty sure that was experimental section, since I didnt have that part and I had extra writing part. so I wouldn’t worry about it :)

anyone know when the scores are getting released for this?

[SAT Reasoning Test - SAT Score Reporting Dates](Getting SAT Scores – SAT Suite of Assessments | College Board)
So approximately around the end of the month.
What reading passages did you guys get? Any hard vocab you remember?
Did anyone get a reading passage about dinosaurs and what the author thought was the main reason for dinosaurs’ success?

yeah, I got the passage about the dinosaurs. Overall I thought the test was a lot easier than the other two I took last January and May. Kind of unsettling…
The vocab was not challenging, the writing was alright-only a few I was unsure on, and the math wasn’t too bad. The first section I had in math gave me some difficulty though.
Oh and I didn’t have cold steel either! must have been experimental. Does everyone have a different experimental section? Like in terms of category? Or was it just an experimental writing section today?

Ughh, after reading CC, I fear the writing section was trickier than I originally thought.

Anybody took the test in Asia??
i remember the writing was “should everybody be creative?”
I really hope to know more about the CR answers…

I got that essay too, I used 1984 and Rosa Parks. I couldn’t solve the last math question on t and t/2 and another one in CR, Can I still get at least a 2100.

@dunan1995
Though I’m from Eastern Europe, not Asia,I think we had the same SAT.I also had the question about creativity in the Writing section.

But do you guys think this curve will be lenient, In my country they rejected over 200 registrations because they didn’t fill the College Board School Code. So do you think the curve might be lenient cause I heard its based on performance. Like I missed 2 questions in math because I was super sure of the rest, do you think I can still get a 780?

Sorry please what is the units digit of 7^1600, This question slapped me. I randomly guessed and put 1 what is the correct answer please. I haven’t seen any calculator that can do that.

I checked it, it was one. I’m so happy  . Thank God!

My essay was about people in other countries, and that was pretty easy for me.
But I know I didn’t do very well on the dinosaur passage :\ What did you guys put for the “main reason the author attributes to the popularity of dinosaurs” or some other question. Or what the author thought about the “evidence”? Did anyone else put the the commercial whatever accepted it or something?
As for experimental passages, it was either a writing or reading and of those, everyone got the same.

Actually, disregard what i said about the experimental passages, there were a lot of the same (writing = sputnik/ reading = groups, asia, etc) but there was still a lot of variation.

I omitted one question in math because I was hungry :frowning: , if I get the rest can I still get a 790 or will it be a 780?

the last grid-in problem on math section…
is it 1600 or 800?
and the cube problem, is it 54? or 51?
I put latter answers for both of the problems and I have this feeling that I am wrong…
by the way, does anybody remember the answer for the last problem on section 10?
it’s “whereas Lousiana’s”, right?

I have a quick question guys- how do I go about sending my scores to schools I’m applying to early decision? the deadline is november 1 for the applications, so should I hold off on turning my applications in until october 25, so I can update my CommonApp and send my scores?
