OFFICIAL Pomona College Class of 2014 RD Applicants

I don't think this thread exists yet, so here we go. I'll get things started:

I'm from India, lived in Singapore practically my whole life. I have academic interests in economics, political science, creative writing, sociology, math, history and international affairs.

I’m applying. I live in New York. If accepted I’d probably major in Poli Sci. I already submitted my application too

I’ve yet to submit my app but I’m pretty set on the essays. I’ll just need to fine tune it when I find the time. Oh, the detriments of a 17 school college list.

Haha it does have its downsides… I’m only applying to eleven schools RD so I don’t have as much of a problem.

I have 11 supplements left to submit as of today. Between last night and now I’ve submitted Amherst, Williams and Brown. Hoping to submit Pomona before the weekend ends.

So far I’ve submitted Dartmouth, Pomona, Amherst, and Wesleyan. Still putting the finishing touches on some of my essays and supplements. Hopefully I’ll have Harvard, Williams, Brown, and Tufts done this weekend

^Haha, Dartmouth has an essay-less supplement!

But it’s good to hear that you’re making strong progress.

Some of my essays remain far from completion. :(

Shhhhhhhhh that doesn’t mean I can’t count it haha. You’ll get there. It seems like we’re applying to a lot of the same schools incidentally. What’s your complete list?

Applying from the Los Angleles area. Currently chipping away at the art supplement and pressing my way through all those essays…

Applied to a handful of UCs, two CSUs, and will be appling to Claremont McKenna. Wow, I have my winter break workload cut out for me. I’m just trying to stay local in SoCal. Prospective bio major. (:

From: Maryland
Other Schools I Applied To: Stanford, Brown, U of San Francisco, San Francisco State, Maryland-College Park
Major if accepted: Asian Studies

Hey you fabulous people,
I hail from Malawi, in southern Africa.
hmmm, i applied to brown, yale, ucla, uc berkeley and ucsb, mcgill, ubc, u.miami and ofcourse pomona, pitzer and cmc.
I honestly don’t know what id do if i got into pitzer and pomona, can those 2 schools join forces already because they are both just too awesome.
I don’t really know what i want to do but im leaning towards the sciences.

Hello! I submitted a couple weeks ago. I’m from Northern Virginia, potential Theatre/Psych major.
Other schools: UVA, SUNY Stony Brook, Barnard, Columbia, NYU, Northwestern, St. Olaf, Carleton, USC (Cal).

wow wisdom, that’s an interesting group of schools. pretty diverse. what made you pick them out of curiosity?

I’m applying to Pomona! I organized a college tour to LA/SD area for my school, and the Claremont Consortium was one I had to include. The schools were so wonderful, and by far, Pomona was my favorite.

I’ll def. do Biology if I get in. I also applied to UC Davis, Berkeley, LA, and San Diego, and Univeristy of Chicago, Brown Uni, and Stanford. I have yet to submit my private school applications… Still slaving away on those essays. :(

I’m finishing up my application over break. Mostly fine tuning my art supplement. I’m from Minnesota and my other schools include Scripps, McGill Unviersity, and Macalester College. I would major in Neuroscience or Art…still deciding

Hi everyone! I’m done with my apps - hurray  I’m from NJ. I applied to 10 schools - Pomona, Scripps, Columbia, Yale, UNC, Duke, WashU, Barnard, Brandeis and Rutgers. I had an interview with a Pomona alumnus last week - it made me really excited about Pomona. I’m nervous about the low admin % for woman. Did I say that I’m done with my apps?! I’m going to RELAX over winter break, hurray.

fishface1, I can’t say exactly, because it’s not like they all have anything in common, but I like all of them and I can see myself at any of them. Plus they’re all really good schools, and some also have strong programs that interest me, like theatre or choir.

Fair enough. I guess it doesn’t matter how you chose them as long as you’re happy with them.

Merry Christmas.

I requested an alumni interview mid-november and still haven’t gotten a response from Pomona. I emailed them a week ago, and they still haven’t gotten back to me! what do I do?
