Congratulations everyone who made it!!

Son was waitlisted at Princeton today - disappointed, but got into many great schools with lots of $, so can't really complain at all. I think he will stay on the waitlist though and hope and pray :). Congrats to all of you who got in and sympathy to the rest!

Well, all my ECs were music-related but there were a ton of them. like a lot. I also founded and serve as president of our chapter of the Tri-M music honors society, which is a music/community service club. and I've been to all-state choir 3 times and all east choir as well. had a newspaper route for 6 years, went to PA governor's school for the arts for guitar, probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting right now

General Comments:
wow, I really thought I wouldn't get in because my ECs were so onesided. but I'm excited. don't know if I can afford it even with the great fin. aid, but we'll see. the only other Ivy I applied to was Cornell and I got in there but again with the $$ thing, I have 2 full rides from state schools with good honors programs that will be hard to turn down. oh yeah, and it came by snail mail yesterday, and I live in central PA. Congrats to everyone who got in . . . for those who didn't, just the fact that you care enough to post here speaks volumes about the type of person you are and how much you care about college and your future. any school would be lucky to have you!

My school doesn't rank at all (the school is vehemently aganist it), yet I still got accepted.

man. sure helps to be black when applying to kickass schools. i know that sounds wrong, but it is outrageous how much easier it is

who from canada has already found out?

I know typing on College Confidential isn't indicative of intelligence, but I'm not going to lie-- it made me giggle when someone who got accepted to Princeton misspelled "extreme."

The misuse of "burgeon" particularly got me ... it's not just a misspelling. Seriously, burgeon DOESN'T mean beacon ... but English isn't everyone's area of expertise.

jjjjj: you're right, it is wrong.

scorcher999 - I cant believe YOU were rejected! That pretty much kills it for people like me.

[] Extracurriculars: President, treasurer of Math and Science Club. Math contests, science competitions, etc.
[] Why I think I was accepted/deferred: Maybe my second semester grades? They're quite shameful. Also, my interviewer sucked.
[] Other thoughts: This is weird. I spent the most time on my Princeton application, and the least time on Stanford and Harvard. Yet I got in. I included my research abstracts/papers, an extra essay, an extra recommendation from my research mentor at MIT, and an extra recommendation from an alumni I've known for a long time.

General Comments: I'm not ashamed of getting put on the waitlist by Princeton. They do resort to it fairly often. Getting rejected is certainly no shame either after looking at the incredible accomplishments of some of those who did get rejected. Congratulations to everyone who got in!

Wow.
I feel really inadequate compared to everyone here, and now wonder how I was accepted at all.

i cant believe they waitlisted someone with a 2400

They reject and waitlist people with 2400s all the time, and even with decent standardized test scores, I don't stand up to a lot of the people who were rejected.
