@AGoodFloridian I did the same internship as you lol. I know what “lab” you are talking about. What did you work on there?
I also applied for transfer this fall!
@choser No waaaay <3 That is so cool man, we should talk more about that! So I worked in the “outreach” department, under A.D… My project essentially involved adding another layer to their user-accessible online experiment. I don’t think Princeton got a lot of applicants who interned at a place so near and dear to them :)) What did you work on in your time there?
Were you a highschool intern or did you apply through the government program? I see a lot more high school interns there than undergraduates.
@AGoodFloridian I was an undergrad intern. I worked on MHD simulations and had the same mentor. I am a comp sci major, and I saw from a previous post that you were looking to do physics and are interested in learning more about programming. Now I know why you said that, because the majority of the people who work at the lab have something to do with computational physics in one way or another, due to the nature of their work.
I know exactly what you worked on - my first day there I actually used the application you are working on (I am pretty sure.)
Still doubt I will get in, Princeton is a cool town/uni, very pretentious, but still cool! Good luck man!
What a small world, that’s so crazy. I know exactly which project you’re talking about, a fellow intern this semester worked on something similar. If your mentor was the same as mine, then you’ve definitely seen it lol It’s his project and all.
Yeah, like I said before, I’m not holding my breath for Princeton. Looove the place, I left at the beginning of Spring, it was so charming. I’m confident of my application, but it’s hard to get a full grasp at just how spectacular a lot of the applicants are.
If anyone feels like messing with your friends, send them a screen shot of your financial aid portal. It makes it seem like you were admitted. :)) Hopefully we will all find out our status soon.
@imaphilote I got happy af when I saw my TAG award on the FA website and it said Princeton so I thought I got in but then I called them and they said it has nothing to do with acceptance
Haha. Right?! It’s so strange. I was at least expecting to see the portals change to “under review” or something when they started going through them. I know yesterday was Decision Day, so maybe they’re finalizing everything over these next few weeks.
@“FutureIbanker/hfmanager” where did you see TAG award? Is it on financial website?
@ivcstudent It was on HESAA which is NJ state financial aid site
@“FutureIbanker/hfmanager” I thought u were talking about FA from Princeton University website. Best of luck to you!
is this the Princeton financial portal? or which one?
@CC12342021 it’s not the Princeton financial portal. It is different one.
@CC12342021 It’s New Jersey FA portal for NJ residents.
Sorry for the confusion.
Oh thank you for the clarification. Did anyone receive a packet from admission with information about transfer applicants? I just did and I was kinda confused haha
@CC12342021 What is that packet? What does it say?
I think I got the same thing a few months ago. It had info on affordability, transfer process, and student life.
Can I get people’s opinion on this please?
I got into UC Berkeley for Poly Sci and I’m a California resident so my cost of attending Berkeley is half the price as Princeton. If I get into Princeton and they require I pay the full price, should I just attend Berkeley?
@AGuyWithAFry Have you done Princeton Financial Aid Calculator. They are very generous with financial aid. I’m from Cali and also got into Berkeley, and if I get into Princeton it’ll be free for me.
@SmartJarhead I haven’t done it but my parents make a pretty good amount so I’m assuming the calculator is going to say nothing informative.
@CC12342021 The financial aid screen I was talking about is the Princeton one.
