no i didn’t- if you take the ACTs you don’t have to take any SAT IIs. I took full advantage of that- the less tests the better.

Are you seeing the light? please, enlighten us all

You still have to take subject tests–well apparently in your case you didn’t. Which is strange. It clearly says you need to take SAT OR ACT, AND 2 subject tests. I don’t know how one could have missed it.

congrats on getting deferred.

Hey guys… I am confused, is getting deferred a good or a bad sign??

It can be viewed in either light. They thought you were good enough to be put into a pool of 1800-2200 other applicants in which you could all wait to see if 100-200 of you would be admitted. Chances are roughly the same as the RD round.

Thanks, that cleared a lot of the confusion. I am pretty sure that my SAT scores are what killed me (2080 and 660 CR)

I guess they weren’t forgiving about my freshman and sophomore year grades. my junior year and first semester senior year cumulate to around a 3.81 but the first two years…ugh maybe a 3.61 or 3.62? Oh well. black can’t get you everything! :D

Congratulations to everyone admitted! Keep the hope alive for those deferred! Also, trust and believe that you will find out where you fit best for the ones rejected! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not going to check my decision until December 21, 2012, the last day of the first semester for me. I’m doing this because I don’t want to lose focus on studying for my final exams, especially the AP Calculus one. Guess I’ll have to wait four more days.

the hardest thing personally for me is that the stats and grades were all good 36/two 800s/4.0 but that somehow the ECs I love just weren’t enough. I’m still proud of my track record, though, and have confidence in it for the other schools and for pton regular round.

Congrats to the acceptees-you definitely deserve it!

Accepted! International student (Norway), so perhaps that helped…

SATs were 2200, predicted IB scores of 41 without bonus points, main activities being Rotary International and hunting (which I wrote my main common app essay on).

Best of luck to all deferred - I hope to meet you in NJ come fall!

Accepted! Congratulations to everyone else who’s in! For those of you deferred and rejected, life is still good. If deferred, your chances are still pretty good and it means you’re definitely a qualified applicant. These things come down to a bit of luck and chance. So, don’t abandon hope. To those rejected (even if this doesn’t make you feel much better), there are so many other deserving schools which would be lucky to have you. Earlier today when I felt certain I’d be rejected, I asked myself why I hadn’t just applied ED to an easier school. It’s not just that I would have always wondered what would happened had I risked applying to Princeton, but that the courage required to even apply to a school like Princeton is indicative of strong character. Risks don’t always pay off in the way we want them to, but by putting yourself out there you’ve become a stronger person. This may sound fake, but I’m so sincerely proud of every person that applied, rejected, deferred, or accepted. Best of luck to everyone.

accepted. PM your facebook names!
i can’t believe this

Can anyone admitted post the link to Princeton’s Admitted page for '17 students? Thanks!

Does Princeton have a preview weekend in the Spring for admitted students to attend like Harvard (Visitas) and MIT (CPW) and others? If so, have they announced the dates for this year?

Yea, there’s Princeton Preview some time in early April. I don’t know about specific dates, though.

@Pton The link is www.princeton.edu/admitted.

@Oboss The dates are April 11-13 or April 22-24!

Do you guys think that Princeton only accepted people who applied earlier than the deadline this year? I feel like with so many deferrals, they must not have even read many of the applications…

I am seriously in shock at my rejection. I expected a deferral.
I am Mexican/Dominican. I have a 4.23 weighted GPA. >30 ACT. I am President of the Sparrow Club of our school and Key Club officer. I am also directing a video on recruiting minorities into IB/AP classes. I am full IB. I had an internship during the summer, where I had to create an original demo and my advisor said it was the best one she has seen in 12 years. I also volunteer regularly whenever I have the chance. I had a difficult childhood. My father was a drug addict, alcoholic, and spent time in prison. I have over 400 hours of volunteer work. I am involved in MECha. I am also involved in one of my community’s food projects, where I am one of the leaders. What am I missing? Seriously, anybody? I can’t believe this. It hurts me.

^ Do not worry. You will go to a great school. Just focus on all your apps now.
