Last question math sec 4 ball probability

The ball probability question with the 4 balls was 7. You could pick blue, green, red, blue, green, red… And then you’d be forced to pick one of those again

The ball probability question with the 4 balls was 7. You could pick blue, green, red, blue, green, red… And then you’d be forced to pick one of those again

Was gonna pick 7 for the ball probability question but put 5 instead.

The Critical Reading was easy (especially the negative campaigning story). The Writing section was really easy. The Math section was meh. Started off super easy then the last fews questions on the MC (Section 2) were tricky. Section 4 MC was easy. Grid-ins were fairly easy.

Did anyone get the problem where it was like “n is a four digit number…one unit is 3” I literally was so confused on it.

@elmstreetking‌ i got 7, fairly confident that is correct. assuming you pick a different color for the first three, you will have one red one blue one green, the same for the next round of three, so two red two blue two green, at this point no matter what you grab, after you pick one more ball, you will have 3 of one color.

@Chrysanthemum14‌ it doesnt matter what the other three digits was, you know the number was something like xxx3, and the units digit of any product of exponential or multiplication functions is dependent on the original units digit (assuming it’s an integer) so you can find what the units digit of 3^7 is to get the answer, which was 7

It was 9

First CR last vocab fill in: atavism, pluralism, egotism, fanaticism, and erraticism? The one abt penguins.

Atavism

wcs.org/news-and-features-main/~/media/files/pdfs/penguins_jf09.ashx

@justforeva‌ The more I think about that penguin question the more I believe the answer was egotism?

I put atavism so idk

@Chrysanthemum14 @elmstreetking The source (WCS Newsroom) would like a word with you!

Oh the answer was fanaticism according to that link.

@CodeAdam‌ Thank you haha, i wasnt sure whether it was atavism or fanaticism, mostly because i wasnt sure what atavism was

@elmstreetking‌ could you explain that answer to me? the ball question one

Penguins show a site fidelity that borders on fanaticism.
Of the 54,361 birds that Boersma’s team has banded over
the years, only 149 were later recorded at a colony other
than the one in which they were born

I put pluralism… oops I was looking at the numbers.

I think I got 1 to 7 wrong on the CR, perfect on Math (it was very easy imo) and either perfect of 1 wrong on Writing. What do you think my score will be?

@gtrisgrtr‌

You have 10 of one color 11 of another and 12 of a third. To make sure you have 3 of any of the three colors, you need to pick at least 7 because if you pick 6 you could have two of each and if you pick 8 or higher you could have four of one color and two of each etc. 7 is the answer because that is the MIN in which you will DEFINITELY have 3 of one color.

@elmstreetking‌ if you are referring to the 4 digit question, i know why your answer was 9, which is wrong. if you use a hypothetical 4 digit number that ends in 3, such as 1003, and plug it in (1003^7), you will get an answer like this 1.0211899e+21… this is truncated and doesnt show the exact value, only an approximation. the complete exact answer is 1021189947840108105187

i already knew that, elmstreetking said the answer was 9 and i thought he was referring to the ball question so i wanted his reasoning for believing it was nine, but he was referring to the 3 to the seventh power question
