its ok guju.. u can get 2 wrong and still get an 800 on writing (most likely)

Thanks vinny380 I did get 0 wrong the PSAT Practice Writing..so I hope I dont' stretch too far from that. Anyway, what was the consensus about the 1st fixing the sentence about "hearing"....did everyone put no error? I think I put D for that one....not sure.

when our school is closed, usually the office is open and the janitors are there
you might still have a chance
damn if i sat in the back i couldve taken pictures with a cell or something . .or maybe i could've written some down super quickly on a piece of paper and pocketed it, because if i was in the back, i'd be the last one to turn in the test .. but we were placed in alphabetical order
do you guys see why sitting in the back is crucial?

guju i put NO Error for that one, someone confirmed earlier why that was the right answer .. one had a comma in the wrong place or something?

Do you guys think it's possible to get two wrong and still get an 80? This writing section was about average imo.

yes, i put A ... D would of been right, except it was m]issing the verb is ... making the sentence not make snese at all

Something like
Hearing, unlike seeing is * blah blah
A-^
D-Unlike seeing, hearing* <-- did not have is

saroah, that was not a No Error one .. it was the chaning sentences ......... since it had no error, the answer was A, not E.

im not sure if "is" was underlined.

Critical R. -No
Math- No
Writing- Probably - maybe not ... curve will be okay

It was. I remember that question. It was underlined in the original and in D, it didn't have it. That's what was worng with D, so A was correct.

yeah thats what i meant by no error, as in not to change it, correct as is aka letter A :)
fang my bro is a comp science genius BUT he wouldnt make an acct on this site if it was the last site in the internet lol
I'm so happy, today i had 5 super hard tests, so now i have no hw!@
after the ap bio test, a girl started crying . . poor thing

yea, is was defeintly underlined

ohwell i bs'ed the hole thing. damm u take ap bio in 11th grade. i took it freshman year

a lot of my friends take ap bio as well (they are juniors).... a solid understanding of chem is needed (or thts what I have heard)... freshman yr, wow! thts pretty good

i guess our school is different we do bio chem phys

but to get into A.P bio freshman yr, didnt u already of had to take a bio course....or a chem course, or anything like that??? how do they know who to pick into the program ...? 8th grade science average... tht sounds weird

WELL aren't we just so smart
just kidding, actually i'm the ONLY junior taking it in the entire school, the rest of the class are seniors
If you covered the basics of chem in a quick 3 week course or something, that's all you would really have to know
Our school system is a typical southern school, with no diversity, about 500 kids enrolled, with 480 being white, and no real "push" to education, like i said earlier, i live close to WV lol

Oh man i just thought of something
wouldn't this be a much better policy:
some schools, although located in high-scoring psat states, really aren't living up to that high standard the other schools in the state are
so what collegeboard ought to do is base the cutoff score per region of each state and average psat scores of that region
That makes total sense, I'm sure not all schools in TX are super brilliant, but the cut off score is like 220 or something . . maybe that's not as fair to those in a worse school system more down south. Just a thought.

wow... its so late.. i am officially addicted to this site.....:: must click X at top of screen ::..... anyway, i will prob be on tommorow.. hopefully with the psat booklet... have questions ready ......bye

I think it depends on the students and how motivated they are. I mean, commended cutoff is 202 but we only had 7 that beat that mark. Semifinalist was 211 (fairly low) but there was only the 4 of us in my entire, extremely competitive grade. The saludictoridan and the 3rd of our grade didn't even made commended and me, little old barely-clinging-to-top-10th made semifi.

So my roundabout point was that the regions thing probably wouldn't matter. Richer and more competitive districts tend to have an advantage in standardized testing, especially PSATs, but those are filled with kids who don't care about $2500 or whatever amount of money it brings because they can afford full tuition out of pocket. At least, that's how it is at my school.

Adios senor vinny.
senor, right?
i'm pretty positive, just making sure
