<p>QBridge should just freeze the entire website, so that no one will be clicking refresh like 1000x because that screws up the server(s) even more.</p>

<p>Freeze it for about 3 hours while they fix it (or should I say attempt to fix).</p>

<p>Ok, I got to the login page and then I couldn’t get any further. And for people who say that we should have submitted earlier, seriously, some of us couldn’t. My teacher and my counselor didn’t send in their things until 2 and I didn’t get my teacher’s edits of my essays until 5. There was no way I could’ve submitted earlier without mistakes and not give me my best chance. I’m a little happy for this because I was able to really get everything perfect, but now I’m really ready to send everything in.</p>

<p>An advice: please stop visiting the application site. The error meassage shows that their MySQL server is down.
Because QuestBridge uses a software called CiviCRM to keep record of everyone’s information, it needs to access an MySQL database, which shuts itself down when overused (overheating problems). That’s why you’re getting the error, because the software can’t connect to the database. Yes, you can theoretically log into the application, but it’s useless because it can’t access the data.</p>

<p>I’m surprised that QuestBridge hasn’t blocked access the the page yet, because the more you visit it, the more the server tries to access the database, the worse the problem gets. </p>

<p>Database down time is worse than even server down time because if QuestBridge doesn’t back up its data regularly, everything stored in that database could take a long time to retrieve!</p>

<p>So please be patient and STOP clicking on the application. I suggest coming back and try every other hour.</p>

<p>@gadgor as soon as school started, so about 5 weeks ago, but I didn’t really start pestering them about it until 3 weeks ago. My teacher is just really lazy and the guidance counselors in my school suck. Mine barely knows my name, so I had to spend extra time with her telling her about me :/</p>
