College of Arts and sciences

Stats:
SAT: 800V 790M (2590)
SAT IIs: 800W 740 Literature 800IIC 760 Biology
GPA: 3.5 uw/ 4.18 weighted
Rank: my unweighted gpa is in the top 50 percent of my class
Other stats: 8 Total AP courses, one of the top public shcools in CA, at least

Subjective:

Essays: Hella good! at least i think so.
Teacher Recs: one good, one ok. i didnt have a hot junior year, and i only had one teacher who liked me. the "ok" one saw me somewhat under the influence at a convention, actually. not so sure it was a good idea to ask him, but he didnt suspend me so i thought that was good sign.
Counselor Rec: She loves me, and also loves to give me crappy grades (my ap english teacher)
Hook (if any): i dont think i have one. i fenced competitively for 6/7 years, but cornell doenst have a varsity team. i tried to mkae my profile be a smart and intellectually fast-paced kid who was bored with schoolwork to make up for my relatively poor grades; humanities-based (philosophy major, i believe)

Location/Person:

State or Country: california
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Major strength/weakness: SAT scores, essays/ definitely grades
Why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: no clue actually... im shocked

Other Factors: three of my good friends from school got in, two are going there for sure. one is going to be cornell's quarterback AND catcher in 2006-2007. one is going to play on the soccer team. and the one who isnt sure is black. so maybe they needed to accept a non-athlete/underrepresented minority.

Other schools worh tmentioning that accepted me: Boston College, Berkeley
Rejected: Stanford, Yale, UPenn, Brown, Northwestern
Waitlisted: williams, wash u in st. louis
