Mom wants him to go to Binghamton but heâs in love with New Paltz. I think heâll choose Binghamton though because of its reputation.

My son received an email yesterday that said Youâll be successful at Binghamton and to check the status and the status did not change. He was originally deferred to regular action. What do you think that means? Why would they send something saying that if there was no chance of him getting in?

ddotjon, when did you get the email? Whatâs strange is that my son only got his tonight and pha516âs son got his email on Sunday. When I called admissions, they set they are no longer sending decisions out in batches but as they are made. I think the status checker updates overnight so it will be interesting to see if there is a change by tomorrow. I am curious as to whether pha516 got a status change yet.

Why would they send out emails like that if they werenât admitting the students to whom they were emailed? Did you try the âback doorâ to see if you were admitted? Binghamton.edu/newadmit/loginform.jsp

If itâs any consolation, when I called yesterday, I was told that they were trying to wrap up decisions within two weeks and they were emailing them out as soon as they were made instead of waiting until they had many to send out.

lilaw88 âŠstill no status change. I also called and they would not tell me anythingâŠthey said to keep checking the status checker or we will get a letter in the mail.

Pha516 - it is interesting that you put the âorâ in your post. One could take it that you get see acceptances on status checker and get a letter for a rejection. Are rejections on status checker in advance or are they delayed until they are sure the letter arrived. For that matter, do they even notify rejections before April 1?
