<p>My DD got accepted to RICE. Do you know if RICE will call or send email/snail mail for R/B program, if one gets selected?</p>

<p>“Last year, more than 1,000 Rice applicants expressed an interest in the Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars Program; 305 applicants were admitted and given the opportunity to compete for admission to the Medical Scholars Program. Fifty-one of those students were selected as finalists and asked to interview with Baylor College of Medicine. After the interviews, 14 students were selected as Rice/Baylor Scholars.” </p>

<p>I was curious as to whether we are the 300 or so students or if we are the 50 or so students. I also got an interview and I am from Plano, TX in the DFW metroplex.</p>

<p>Only about 300 of the original applicants get into Rice undergrad.</p>
<p>The Baylor College of Medicine Admissions Committee has just completed a careful evaluation of your application for the Rice University/Baylor College of Medicine Medical Scholars Program. We regret to inform you that you were not selected to interview for the program.
This year, 1,551 applicants to Rice expressed interest in the medical scholars program. You were among the very select group of 278 applicants admitted to Rice and given the opportunity to compete for membership in the Rice University/ Baylor College of Medicine MSP. Only 40 students advanced to the interview stage to compete for one of the 13 slots. The Committees decision is not a negative reflection on your ability; rather, it is the result of a large number of outstanding candidates vying for a small number of spaces. </p>
