@bubbashrimp222 Please tell me this isn’t more spam
@jonahma I promise it’s not. I can’t promise they’ll come out at 6 PM since I didn’t directly speak with the rep (and people change their minds all the time), but I’m also an applicant am sincerely hoping it’s the truth
I am so nervous! At least I got accepted to MIT, since the Early Action is not restrictive. But Rice is the dream!!! Please, pretty please accept me.
@fantasyreader Wow you were accepted to MIT. My son’s friend dream school was MIT. He even did a research program with them. He had one b in high school a 92 and finished 2 years of college while in high school. He was also 2nd in his class. Won many awards in Math. Even won award at MIT during math competions. Won many awards in the academic decathlon. He won awards out at nationals. He lives in Washington. I thought maybe that would be geographic diversity. My son’s friend was so disappointed. He talked about going since he was young.
I just called and the lady, who was really nice and understanding my stress level. She told me that the committee had yet not released the information. I told her that it was now past mid December and that if she knew a more accurate date. She kept saying mid December. I have a feeling based on my reading of her that its going to be today. Sorry I couldn’t be more accurate. And this is the truth, not a lie
Quick question for everyone since I am nervous a bit
Anyone who had their application fee waived (mine was for a great SAT II score) does the check mark next to it show up as gray on the portal checklist? Just wanna make sure this is how it’s supposed to be!
@bubbashrimp222 yup mine does too
@bubbashrimp222 Does it say received next to it?
gray arrow and says waived next to it, all in gray colored text
Yes you are fine
I thought if we apply EA to MIT, they do not allow other Private School ED’s. I did not we can do both.
@AllenTx15 MIT wasn’t SCEA, it was just a regular EA.
Rules & Restrictions:
MIT Early Action is an option for all applicants, domestic and international. Our Early Action isn’t single-choice, binding, or anything like that. If you choose to apply to MIT during Early Action, we do not place any limits on where else you may apply, nor do we require you to attend if admitted (though we sure hope you do!)
However: if you apply to another school during Early Action that does have a restriction, MIT requires that you respect those rules. So for example, if you apply to another school that is “single choice” - meaning that you can only apply there during the early period - you may not simultaneously apply to MIT. But that’s just good manners.
@AllenTx15 I’m allowed since it is EA, not SCEA. I’m allowed to apply to rice too because on their Agreement Form, they said that I’m only not allowed to apply ED to other schools so I can still apply EA
