Reflection
Strengths: Essays, ECs

Reflection

Weaknesses: Not sure if some of my essays were weak or not.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Pretty surprised, actually. I didn’t think I was going to get into Rice. But I am excited that I did!

Advice from a mom: for those who didn’t make it, you really really will be able to move on and make a successful life. This is NOT the end of the world. Whatever school you end up at will be lucky to have you and will benefit from your presence just as you will benefit from being there.

Rejected (in Texas)

mggirl or anyone else, how did you find out about scholarships? I got two emails from Rice: one telling me about my acceptance and one telling me they weren’t giving me any need-based financial aid. I didn’t see anything about merit scholarships and I can’t go to Rice without one. Thanks!

@SuperStar803 – I got that same email saying that I’m not eligible for need-based financial aid! I don’t know what the deal is… my EFC is well below Rice’s cost of attendance. Did you expect to receive any financial aid? I’m definitely calling the FA office tomorrow about this.
