Official Sat I Discussion January 2005

what was the answer for the 4 sides of the square extending through vertex or something like that.. I can't remember the question correctly..

this was my test....
mc math, 36 verbal, mc math, qc, 30 verbal, 12 verbal, 10 math....which one is the experimental?

i got 9-3pi also. and did anyone get the one with like a squares sides extend indefinitely and how many regions are there?

that could not have been the experimental since it was in the fifteen minute math section

probably one of the MC Math sections, i kept guessing the second one but i knew i shouldn't deliberately slack off b/c it could have been the first one.

i got that there would be 8 nonoverlapping sides, or something for the 4 vortex one. That confused me. Only those two did though, so maybe a 780.

I guessed 7, but to tell you the truth I wasnt sure exactly what they wanted.

i dont think that it could be 9-3pi/2. because using the formula for arclength (s=r*degree in radians), the arclength of that specific part of the circle came up to 3pi/2. Figuring that there must be some subtraction involved i chose E) 18-9pi/2

what were the answers for futile:effort and relapse:illness?

what did u get on IIC ppangan?

I thought the math was deceptively simple. It was so f'n easy I was laughing.

anyway, here's some random answers:

Last math section 10) E (area of square = 9pi, 1/4 of 9pi minus one shaded area, then double that number)

contradict

concurrance

got 3 B's in a row in QCs

was 61 an answer to grid in (180/3 = 60, plus the first tick mark)?

venal ... corruption last sentence completion

CR ... attitude was either disapproval or indifference (i put dis)

eh, im going to eat some lunch. peace.

You know, I think i actually got 8 for that non-overlaping sides one. Was 9 the largest answer?

i got 72 for the 2 digits without zeros and same numbers. what were the answers for futile:effort and relapse:illness?

and can you tell me why the answer for one of the grid-ins was 61?

c-revs: three words... tic tac toe

680...why mekrob?

I dont think it was 81, because it said the numbers couldnt be the same as well as not being 0. So it would be 8x9=72.

Yeah i knew what they meant by extended sides, i just wasnt sure if it was as easy as everything except the middle square.

And I did get 61 as well for that tick mark one.

did anyone get 1 / radical2 as an answer?

It sounds like there were two versions of the test that had the same sequence of sections but different questions. I also had M,V,M,M,V,V,M, but my last question on the last math section definitely had a question where the answer was a ratio (ratio of the two radii in concentric circles), and I don't think any of the answers involved pi (the one I got was 1/sqrt(2)).

Did anyone else have that same question as me, or am I just confused about the order?

there were 2 different versions of the test. On one of the versions, 1/sqrt2 was the answer (that was the one i had). Which section was experimental? i had the native american passage test
