I think I put 500-something for the honeybee. it was a big guess.

alright guys GO TO AIM CHATROOM: SAT

i got a question about multiplying four prime numbers, but not the same test...
choices wer like 920, 930, 950, 970, 990.. stf like taht?
in which case it was 2 x 3 x 5 x31 or something? (930)

it was 1700something for the honeybee, last choice
3 pints = 288 tbs x 6 (times number of bees to do 1 tab/wk) = 1728

anyone else have the math question about the salaries of the plumbers and the carpenters? it was #25

Dominus did u have the native american test

17000-something seemed WAY too easy for where that question was!!!

the Cheif justice thought that the plurality was trying to choose what books a library should have. it was in the reading. is that the one you were debating?

Obviously, without having seen the test, my comments have to be taken with a grain of salt. It does, however, look like some sections of the today's tests appeared in June 2001 and November 2003.

For instance, the question with 930 is an old one, as well as several verbal questions:

"It's 930 (31,3,5,2). 990 is 2,5,3,3,11. 970 is 97,2,5. 950 is 2,5,5,19. 920 is 2,5,2,2,23. Since a,b,c,d are different prime numbers, the only one that fits is 930."

It seems that industrious students would have benefitted from checking the archives of CC. See http://www.collegeconfidential.com/discus/messages/69/38661.html

Check the archives of November or December 2003 for full discussions of correct answers. I am sure you'll find lengthy discussions about the same questions that create today's debate. Go and check it and avoid a futile discussion. ;)

Verbal Highlights:
Overall, the Verbal sections of this test were what we expected. Sentence Completions had solid triggers and clues throughout the test. Order Of Difficulty was better than we have seen in recent tests, and the hard vocabulary in the earlier questions was almost always wrong. Relationship between the Blanks helped on several of the harder two-blank Sentence Completions.

The Analogies sections of this test were decent, and as long as you didn't get bogged down on a couple of weird ones, you should have done well. Some of the harder Analogies had really tough vocabulary, but these appeared very late in the sections. Working Backwards was crucial on these questions. Recycled Relationships appeared in both sections and should have earned you some easy points.

The Critical Reading passages on this test weren't too bad, though the single passage was very long and wordy. That passage dealt with Native Americans and novels that they wrote. It was difficult to get into, but if you read carefully and used Process Of Elimination, you should have done all right. Eliminating extremes was very useful on this passage. Other topics included the management philosophy of NASA, a blind historian, and a dual passage dealing with the American Dream. Line Reference questions made up an overwhelming portion of the test; if you did these first, the main idea and primary purpose questions were much easier. When you had to go back to the passage, Chronology helped you find the area where the answer was.

waaait a minute
plurality was definitely for keeping the books in the library

OH why was the guy interested in the layer from the girro.. um. w/e clay layer?
i put cuz it was btwn two sedimentary rock layers or something
idk. they didn't mention nething about the abundance of fossils in the layer/its preservation

i got 930 too. none of the others seemed to fit.

what about the pyramid thingy with the plane that meets the vertex and forms a perpendicular with the base??? I guessed 1

yes, and they were telling teh school board which ones (the ones in question) they thought should be in the library. (but not specifically)

Go To Aim Chat Room Sat

Yea it was 930. Damn i ommited that one

yo the 930 one was part of the experimental section so dun wry

what would u get in VERBAL wit say 6-8 wrong?

you'd get about a 720-740.

come to AIM Chat room: SAT

we're discusing everything ITS MUCH BETTER

how do u join the chat room?

i'm in lansing, michigan.

If you miss 8 and don't skip any others, then you will definatly get a 700 at least, even if it has a rough curve, which doesn't seem likely from what others are saying. You should be pretty good though
