Also, does anyone have a roundup of answers? Especially the math fill in questions. Thanks.

What would -4 and 3 omit in math be?

Also, does anyone have a roundup of answers? Especially the math fill in questions. Thanks.

How many can I miss on the Math & writing section for at least a 600???

I had like 3 sections on the writing which probably had 80 something questions in total.

On writing i said “to be held” was an error forget the question/context but does anyone else think that sounds familiar?

Yeah, it was something about rabbits. I put the error as “to be lifted” I think

Quick question about the bicycle one. Here it is reproduced below:

Although the old penny-farthing cycle, with its large front wheel and its smaller back one, was not very fast, it must have been fun to ride. No error.

Everybody on this forum so far has put E (No error). However, can somebody explain to me why it’s not D (must have been)? I thought that it should have been “was”, as it makes more sense in my mind. I don’t know, I thought I could trust my judgement since I got an 800 (80 MC 12 Essay) back in January and I retook it for the perfect CR this time. It was a nice CR section but not so much for Writing. Can somebody explain why my thinking is wrong here? Thanks, I’d appreciate that a lot. :)

@redhuntinghat: You’re back! Err I see. But doesn’t it not make as much sense as “was”? Or is it fine as long as it’s grammatically correct?

As long as its grammatically correct. A lot of the writing questions are not stated in the best possible way but are still technically correct.

Also I think using ‘was’ would cause a -albeit subtle- shift in meaning.

^A tad, yes. Damn it. Sigh well superscored 800 it is then… Unless I apply to Penn. >.<

@independentstudy i thought that penn did superscore?

It does? I was under the impression that Penn and Georgetown were amongst the only schools that don’t superscore. Please correct me if this information is incorrect.

http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf according to this UPenn looks at all your scores. not just your best sitting. so idk if you’d call that superscoring. but i’m in the same boat as you where i got an 800 on writing the first time but retook the test for a better critical reading. i think they’ll still be happy to see the 800 at least once

@independentstudy yeah, i put D as well! It just sounded so awkward that I had to mark it wrong… Sigh :/

I know for critical reading we’ve talked a lot about the Indian passage but do you guys remember any answers to some of the other passages like the violin or the Jane Austen one?

what specifically? I remember one that I wasn’t sure about on the Jane Austen one. I put “Jane wrote about a world with which she was familiar”, E i think.

yeah i put that too. i honestly don’t remember that many on those because those were like two of the first sections for me. that’s why i wanted to see if anyone remembered any of the questions too

i know this is random but do any of you know if the SAT bible trilogy by PowerScore is any good???

For the Jane Austen passage, I put that she doesn’t understand social issues.

I was contemplating that answer as well, but ultimately I decided there wasn’t enough evidence in the text to establish that. On the contrary, passage two argues that despite writing about her own social class, she was still aware of the classes outside her own.

does anybody remember the answer to the left and ride brain writing question? i put that there was no error but idk. that, the bicycle one and the guitar one were so tricky im still holding out hope that the guitar error was so annoyed lol

guitar was definitely not so annoyed, it’s too obvious of an ‘error’ to be presented as a hard question (don’t worry I put it too though :/)

the left and right brain I believe went something like

Though(A) both the left and right side(B) of the brain…

The answer was B, side. It should be ‘sides’
