Official SAT March 10 Math Discussion

Its 60. It CANT be 75 because it was sitting on a cube and therefore one of the angles was a right angle (90 degrees) therefore there is only two triangles like that.

90+60+30
90+45+45

It sure wasnt the 90+45+45 so it had to be 90+60+30

Therefore, 60.

here's some grid ins i rememeber
6000
122 might have been 132
73
9
0?????

What were some other hard math questions, there weren't many but I can't really think of any others.

chinnu_4: Out of the list you provided, I dont remember putting 0 or 73. I do remember the other ones.

EDIT: Btw, up to now I know I got 2 wrong. 700+ here I come! I think I can get up to 5 wrong and still get a 700 right?

I put 3000 for the tank question because I'm pretty sure 6000 was the two tanks combined. I hope.

it was 60 because you know that the square inside the cube had the same side legnths as the cube. then, you know that one part of the triangle we're looking at is half the legnth as the hypotenues(sp). from here you should just recognize that it's a 30-60-90 and the(x, 2x). once you see that you see that the x is between a 90 a 60 degree angle

6000 was the answer. i don't remember 0 or 73 either... i do remember getting 33 for the one with the (x,y) coordinate.

Grid in: 6
12
9
112
33
122
18
23
10/3
6000
I think.

30-60-90 and 45-45-90 arent the only kinds of right triangles, lol. it couldnt possibly be 60..if it was 60 the line coming across the front face of the cube would have to extend to the vertex in order for the longer leg to be double the shorter. it wasnt, so it cant be 60.

irishblues - No, it was 6000. I put in 3000 at first but then noticed my mistake. When I setup my equation I got 3000 as an answer but that was 1/2(X) so they were asking for the capacity, which is X = 6000. I hope :)

what was 10/3 for?

SWEET JESUS i think i got all the grid-ins right! according to your answers, NoxLuminis

I got 6000 also.

i was wrong about 73 one. but noxluminious. the answer wasn't 23. 4.6 was it

Ah yeah I think you are right. I had 6000 then went back and changed it because I thought that was both tanks.

The answer was 4.6.

4.8x5 = 24, not a prime #

nvm, you corrected.

23 was p, but the answer was p/5, so it was whatever 23/5 equals. 4.something

ah, you beat me to it, duper, lol.

I dont remember putting 10/3.

Also, for the x = 4.N

4.6 right?

Can anyone remember the answer to the combination one where there are 5 job spots availible with 8 applicants, and you find the # of combinations with both people.

what was 18 an answer for? I got all of the other ones but i don't remember 18
