Official SAT March 10 Math Discussion

Nope, 3000-1200=1800

.5*3000=1500

1800+1500=3300

but

.5*6000=3000

6000-1200=4800

4800+3000=7800.

6000 is your answer

edit: btw, dane it asks for capacity not how much is in it

another edit: algebraically solved it is

where x=capacity
.5x + x-1200=7800
3/2x=9000
x=6000

didnt it say that the tanks had EQUAL capacity tho?!

I'm so mad at myself for that question. I got 6000 no problem then went back and put 3000 because I thought 6000 was both tanks combined.

yes, thats why you can use x for both tanks

how did everyone do with time?

I had over 5 minutes left after every section.

How many do you think you can miss this time for 700+?

I think 4 missed would be about a 700, this test was really easy...

can anybody do a consolidated list of answers please?

So... it would probably be:

Math

-0 800
-1 760
-2 740
-3 720
-4 700

I did pretty well on time. I ran out of time on one section though, by like 10 seconds.

You know what, I'm going to avoid this topic until I get my scores. I don't want to ruin the few weeks I have before actually getting my scores by knowing how crappy I did.

I got the tank one wrong apparently. I put like 2400 or something LOL.

When do we get our scores?

scores are online on april 4

march 29th

im new here
but do you guys post your scores on the day
you get your scores? just wondering

thanks....
i'm dreading that day. judging from these threads, i've missed at least seven questions total. LOL

I hope I get a 750... but if I made any careless errors, there goes my 750+ score.

I know I asked this already, but that one really hard math section (the second one) was experimental probably, yeah?

aquamarinee, im curious about that one too

aquamarinee, i'm PRETTY sure it was experimental. we can find out for sure if we can remember at least one question from it and ask others if they all recognize the question. the problem is, i can't remember one!
