Official SAT Subject Test - US History - June 2015

@stressedx34564 According to Wikipedia, “In 1980, the United States enacted the Crude Oil Windfall Profit Tax Act (P.L. 96-223) as part of a compromise between the Carter Administration and the Congress over the decontrol of crude oil prices. The Act was intended to recoup the revenue earned by oil producers as a result of the sharp increase in oil prices brought about by the OPEC oil embargo.” I’m pretty sure it was the environmental act one.

I put the environmental one because it said “a successful antipullutin blah blah…”

I knew the US enacted some type of environmental thing I just didn’t know if it was successful or not

@joeythedog YES

The declaration drew ideas from french philosophers such as Voltaire right?

Locke @wskimo

I dont think the intent of the bills was for enviro benefits, so I put enviro

I put King George grievances but im not sure (for the dec of ind one)

uhh the second answer choice was that they didn’t use locke’s ideas. Either that or I read the question wrong.

@mz00001 ur right, if u look up the dec. of independence ull c

Does anyone remember the one with the first time U.S got oversees territory? Was it Spanish American?

I’m almost positive it was the Voltaire one

they incorporated voltaire’s ideas too tho
i think the part after king george (citing specific instances) mightve made the answer wong
spanish american is right

@littlet4lks thats what I put

yeah i put spanish american @littlet4lks bc annexation of philippines

Yes for Spanish American. Did the war of 1812 give the US more land? I don’t think so but I don’t remember

They incorporated both.

The question was what did they NOT

What was the wording on that question because I read in so many review books that Locke had the most significant impact on the Declaration of Independence.

Also for the Declaration one, I put the one about saying the things the King did to them because I’m pretty sure the Dec. was based on Locke’s principles.

War of 1812 did not give land
Spanish Am. War gave the first overseas
